General Car Talk Discussion Thread
I saw the GS350 and the Five Axis GS at SEMA last year and it's a downright amazing car in person. I love everything about it. Dat navi screen

I say this with a completely straight face - the best sounding stock 4-cylinder car (that I've heard, anyway) is the SRT-4 Neon.
I didn't believe it myself until I came up to one at a meet, back when it was kinda new. Beats out an S2000 with the top down, ITR, Evo, STi, MR2 Turbo, etc.

Im thinking scam too.
Its posted on the Chicago Craigslist
The car in the pics has Michigan plates
The phone number has an Indiana area code
The "seller" also gives zero info about the car for sale, just the standard Wiki entry BS.

Civic has a good eye... Hahaha. It was amazing. DCT takes some time to get used to, i actually didnt like it at first. Same with all the driver aids, all of a sudden the driver wheel was vibrating to tell me that something was in my blind spot because my turn signal was on.
Power was crazy. Ride was stiff, but not too terrible. I love gadgets and... it seemed like there was too much. IDrive took some time, but if I had some time, Im sure I would've gotten it eventually. Exhaust was...
^ I think it's great. The thin spokes are welcome in a segment where they're the size of beer cans.
Need help diagnosing an issue with the Jetta. It seems like once the car warms up, it will not shift smoothly at all. Going into any gear from a stop is a pain, and even if I come to a complete stop in any gear, I can't go into any other gear smoothly. And unsynchronized reverse makes a nice crunch, so I've started driving into my parking spot and backing out when I leave.
Methinks it's the clutch not engaging/disengaging fully. It's a hydraulic system, do you think swapping the fluid out will solve the issue? I don't understand why it'll only do it when warm, though. Weirdly, if I turn the engine off and on again, I get another few minutes of smooth shifts before it acts up again.

My uncle said that it even tells you when it thinks a crash is likely to happen by showing a picture of a car on the dash or the heads up display. Car is smarter than me...
Oh and the HUD - Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Full color and limited info - only speed, a bar graph style tach, and the next turn for gps... but it was suburb in terms of graphs and placing.
Question:
What steps can I take to test drive a couple cars, without having salesmen hassle me for months on end?
There is a VW dealership nearby that has, according to their website, several VW Golf TDIs on the lot (both manual and DSG). I am very interested in this car as my next vehicle, potentially next year.
It's been near forever since I have test driven a car ( > 6 years) and when I did, I was super serial about purchasing at the time.
