General Car Talk Discussion Thread
Speed limits are one thing, but nobody specified how I can get up to speed.
I don't mean shredding tires all the time, but I think most car enthusiasts enjoy an occasional row through the gears.

i wish i had a manuali swear when i drive i'm very inconsistent. Its like a pregnant woman's hormones. Constantly changing. Sometimes fast, slow, normal, and the extremes
one of my uncles is in the market for a new car.
He is basically in between the G37 and A4. I'm trying to get him to get the A4 but he says he doesnt see how he can pay so much and get a 4 cylinder haha. He hasnt driven it yet. BUt maybe when he does he will understand that the tsi is no slouch. I'm gonna go test drive with him
hopefully i'll get to drive it too.

Demon, tell him to get an S4 then.
Although I don't think Audis are really known for their bang-for-buck factor.
Looking for a beater to run around in and not put too much money into.
Olds Aurora? I saw one today that's got a ton of features, and my last GM car went 8 years with nothing more than regular maintenance.
Or should I just get a Civic and call it a day? Only worry is theft, I don't live in the greatest neighborhood anyways.

^Happens all the time to me. Even better are the ones pulling out that pull out in front of you causing you to slam the brakes, and then proceed to dawdle, when they could've pulled out behind you as no one was there.
But next time pop the car in neutral and scare the living shit out of him
makes me want a car
I'm going in the exact opposite way lol with the debt i'm about to take one with grad school!
On a happier note I'm gonna be detailing my car tomorrow
Wash, clay bar, polish, and wax! I've only waxed my car once a year since i've had it never done the other stuff haha.
I'll be doing it all by hand and by myself, gonna die lol.
Got any tips for polishing/waxing? Not really pro, my understanding is do a small area in circular mostion and wipe dry with microfiber? That it??

If you know someone with an orbital buffer, use that as it will be much easier on your entire body, really.
I'm no pro either but having done it by hand sucks in comparison. Just don't keep the buffer constantly moving, never in one spot... wouldn't recommend a rotary at all for a beginner

Though, I then presume you're not a fan of the 512 Belinetta, Veyron, GT-R, R8, SLS, ZR1, etc. All cars within' 100lbs. less or a bit more of the Aventador.

Not that weight really affects a few of these companies anymore.

Gonna be starting now, gonna be a work out lol.
It's 3,500lbs, actually. And technically, only 20lbs. more than the SV.

who said 3800?????????

3400 is fine. 3500 is OK too.
(Thanks)
Nope.
Theres no denying the performance of that car, but I still dont like it.
Similar boat with the Veyron, though the GT-R is growing on me.
Love this one, but I dont consider this a super car.
Same as above.
Hate it, Id rather have a Z06 since the power is a bit more usable for every day driving. The Z06 is nearly 200lbs lighter then the ZR1 too.

Regardless if they are or not, you only brought up weight as your complaint against the Aventador. How I am supposed to know the reasoning behind just, "Its a 3800lb car"?
Usable power has never been an issue with the C6 generation of Corvette. You can use a ZR1 just as much as you can a Z06 on the street.

The funny part is people in Ramblings make fun of facebook.... then post in that thread
