what do you guys think about the Lexus IS350? I found a nice 07 that i want to go check out. I miss having a luxury car. something that i can take on road trip and have the fiancee drive too would be nice.
The MS3 is stick and she refuses to learn.
im tired of taking her Avalon on trips, yes it rides smooth and is comfortable, and it gets 33mpgs all highway, but something fun(er) to drive would be nice

The more times I watch Wheeler Dealers do up their WRX, the more I think that's what I should replace the E36 328i with ... Provided I can find one that hasn't been completely ragged out.
look at the mileage...

Ford GT40 Le Mans racer up for auction
Bona fide racer used in Le Mans film with proper Gulf livery.

Another day, another car with verified Steve McQueen provenance: witness the 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf/Mirage Lightweight Racing car, above. It's up for auction.
It was built for the J.W.A/Gulf team in 1968 and subsequently raced "extensively" throughout the year including Daytona and another little-known circuit in a small French town called ‘Le Mans'. Oh, and six-time La Sarthe winner Jacky Ickx - who Tom Kristensen still calls 'Mr Le Mans' - tested this very car in the Le Mans trials. That's proper pedigree.
But this GT40 - chassis P/1074 - was destined for greater celebrity status, because in 1970 it was sold on to Solar Productions and used as the camera car for Steve McQueen's film, Le Mans, before being sold on and entered into vintage racing events, including the GT40 25th Anniversary Reunion.
Gallery: the Ford GT40s up for auction
It'll be one of the star attractions at RM's Monterey sale in August, and pairs up with another Ford GT40 that has covered just 4,749 miles from when it was built in 1967, for goodness sake.
You probably don't need us to remind you of the GT40's ascent into the motorsport annals (it whupped Ferrari in the 60s), nor the special place it holds in Jeremy's heart (he used to own a Ford GT). You just need to find some money and head down to California in a couple of months.
We of course, will be heading down to the Gulf-liveried GT40's spiritual home this weekend as the 80th running of Le Mans gets underway. We've got a homemade version of Nissan's DeltaWing for the trip too, so fold-down these Internet pages for more updates over the weekend.

I was hoping it was something like 100,000 miles, that would've been awesome. Found this 300C, and love the way it looks;

What are things to watch out for? Looking for a practical car that's relatively cheap to maintain, but with a little bit of fun.
friend asked me about reliability with mazda's specifically their history with engines.
He's interested in the new 3, but worried about the new skydrive engine.
anyone know anything about it??

I think it's actually SkyActiv ... And I think to some degree every manufacturer doing direct injection is having issues with oil buildup ...
I think hyundai retains its value a little too well

Yea, that is where my reaction came from. I saw the pictures they had posted and the extreme ones were ridiculous.
Makes me think I am right in believing that I wouldn't want to own one of those out of warranty...

Occasional cleaning seems to help. So far, I think, the benefits are outweighing the drawbacks; at least in the marketplace.

lol my bad i meant skyactiv...
but you say all DI engines are having problems, but do you mean only audi or actually all. Audi is not enough evidence for all right? Hyundai is using DI engines now. Are they fine??

I think Mazda's DISI turbo-4 in the Speed3 has it too.
