And it will fall within that so I wouldnt really have to pay for maintenance.
I'm referring to the M3.

What is the advantage of leasing a car? You have no ownership in it and its just throwing money away, in a way.
The only advantage is being able to get through different cars within' a couple years. My folks did it because they wanted the newest BMWs after 3-4 years.

You could be that cool dude at 30-35 years old who still has his car from HS/college even though he's making $100k a year.

The keys, by themselves, are not worth much. The box is worth even less.

I was driving behind a big ass Toyota SUV the other day. I thought it was the new Sequoia. Found out it was the new 4Runner. My god they made that thing huge and lanky.

I've been in the market for a 69 Camaro. No real rush on finding one because I'm picky. Stumbled across one that I was going to make an offer on...pictures were good, everything was clean...and then I saw the vinyl top. Fucking disappointing.

I think it may be the shitty screen on my laptop but I could have sworn it was all sheet metal. Oh well.

so i was at the dealer today to test drive the scion frs because Subaru didnt let me drive the BRZ and i have to say i love the car... its not fast its not slow either i love how the brake pedal feels like i love how it handles but i hate the feel of the clutch pedal its so soft - softer than i thought it would be... car looks great in white but hmmm for each their own but interior of the subaru hands down is much better to my taste... Scion offered me better financing than subaru but i still think i like the subaru more... decisions decision... ehh i hate that

white Scion FRS or blue Limited BRZ ehh

25.2 vs 28.3 msrp

my understanding is that the subie has better (tighter) suspension plus the other interior upgrades and HIDs (plus available nav) over the fr-s. The fr-s's perks are the better warranty and cheaper entry price

^ The suspension between the two are nearly identical. The Subaru suspension is setup up for more understeer however, while the FR-S is more tail-happy.

And to add to the perks, better dealership experience. Im not impressed by the Subie dealers.

Street, as I mentioned yesterday in my text, get the Subie if its a daily. The FR-S is a great weekend car that you can drive every day, but Im sure your girlfriend would enjoy the heated seats

It will probably be a few years before I find exactly what I want. I'm not looking for a new project but something that doesn't need much work to get going. I'm after a clean body, I don't want to deal with the mess of having a ton of bodywork done before getting to other parts of the car.

We'll see how it goes.

Where do you look for cars like that?

I started on craiglist but most people either ask for more money than the car is worth (10-15k more) or it's a dealer trying to unload something that is worth a lot and the dealer knows it.

I've also been browsing classicartrader.com, which has been a little more helpful. Ebay has a good amount of cars but you have to deal with the whole ebay issue.

Depending on how things go over the next 8-12 months I may just buy a project car from a shop. Generally you can build off of those easier (but its a little more expensive). Better than the alternative of buying one from someone who picked up a car for fun, and then realized the amount of work needed to get it back into decent shape. Body work alone can sometimes cost a ridiculous amount of cash.

Honest question: Why a new BRZ when you can get a 370Z with about 13-15k miles for the same price?

Because it's a totally different car?

I would get a new BRZ over a used 370z.

Maybe the Z isn't the best example. I bet you could get a 2011 Mustang GT for $28k now.

I just don't get the love of these cars. They should be $20k not $28k.

^^ I don't either. the looks do pretty much nothing for me. I've been trying to see the fascination and I just don't. I also would rather have a used 370Z. a friend of mine has a silver one with dark grey matte aftermarket wheels and it looks fricking incredible.

BRZ = 2,762 lbs
350z = 3300 lbs

I think people love them because of them being rwd and relatively lightweight.

They are like a Miata with a roof and a tiny back seat.
