Looks are subjective. The C5Z is one of my favorite looking cars.

Now, the GT-R and Panamera.... those are ugly. The Panamera looks like a flattened Accord Crosstour with a Porsche front clip grafted on. The GT-R looks like a flattened M1 Abrams sans cannon.

GTR and panamera have been growing on me. Not so much their looks, but they got some presence. You know theres a beast lurking within.

This Z06 doesnt cut it, yea its subjective, but i'm not a big corvette fan. The new Z06 looks nice, still would never buy one though.

I love how you say C5Z's are ugly and then in the next post you say you don't like Vettes. Brilliant.

yeah I don't see myself actually buying this Vette. It would need to be a 2nd or 3rd car, not my only one. I'm looking at 335's and e46 m3's.

I think the 335 is better looking, it's newer, and could be faster than an E46 M3 with just a tune, no?

Coal I think you need moar pics

I'm enjoying improving my stick driving in the Jetta. My MT experience before this has been limited to DD'ing my friend's GT Mustang and a test drive in a couple Mazda3s. It's great once you become more and more familiar with the clutch take-up point.

That being said, hills FTMFL.

what's the deal with the HPFPs? Is there a certain year that it stopped being a problem?

not nearly as bad as the 2G TL/CL but any lingering problem that could leave you stranded is awful for a newer car

It's funny tho, this wild side of me wants to buy that Vette and, well, be wild. I mean I don't have wife or kids, it's not like I have to be concerned w anything thereof.

HPFP - High Pressure Fuel Pump. It was a big problem, but they fixed them at no charge.

Oh, and E46 M3 muscular looks >>>>>>> 335

They also extended the warranty on the N54 engines (the 335's with the two turbo chargers) out to 120k miles (IIRC). Mine is an N54, btw.

Better spent as to what, though? Performance, or responsible purchases?

I should have clarified - the warranty extension applies to the HPFP on those motors; not the whole engine.

careful with e39 m5, repair costs are "up the wazoo"

the more I'm thinking of it, yeah I'd never buy that Vette. the C5's have aged horribly and I really don't like them too much. I was just kinda starry-eyed because of the 750hp... ultimately I'd rather have a bone stock C6Z.

not what I heard - it's EXTRA special in that it needs 1000's in repairs if things break. since it's older parts are more $$$ and harder to find

btw what about this heat soak on the 335's? anyone have infos on that? thx

No more than any other turbo, as far as I know. It hit 115 here this week and my car still had pep.

what tint percentage do you think is too dark too have on front windows?? Disregard laws.

edit: and i mean too dark that when you're in the car it really affects visibility at night making it well kinda unsafe

IMO anything under 35% in the front. Keep in mind I drive on unlight, tree lined, country back roads.

My Prelude had 18% tint all around. I hated driving at night. My sisters TL-S has 5% on the front windows and 0% on the back IIRC and its impossible to drive.

Thought this was cool.

Mean looking twin-turbocharged Lambo is up for sale with 9.11% to go to 9/11 victim fund.

Question: Cars are being sold all the time, so what makes this so special? Answer: Two things. First, it has been wrapped in unique 3M Matte Military Green Foil, as a tribute to America's heroes and to honor those that have sacrificed their lives for the country, and second when sold 9.11 percent of the purchase price will be donated to the 9/11 victim fund.Another feature that makes this supercar special is the Heffner Performance 1050TTG Twin Turbo kit that's been installed.

There are a host of other modifications including an upgraded twin disc clutch system, stainless steel turbo exhaust, twin high flow air filters, and an upgraded Motec M800 engine management system, which all combine to increase output to 1050hp.The supercar also has tinted windows, powder coated black rims, carbon ceramics, a carbon interior, rearview camera, a huge carbon-fiber wing, and carbon side mirrors, hatch and diffuser. With just 23k miles on the clock the car is said to be in immaculate condition and is priced at $159,000.

In short - it's been a problem; it CAN still be a problem; there's an extended warranty and a class action settlement on the issue; most of the '09+ N54 engines have no problem.
