World’s largest parade of Ferrari F40s marks its 25th anniversary: Motoramic Dash

By Justin Hyde | Motoramic – 6 hours ago

This is the Motoramic Dash, a daily roundup of the most interesting automotive news.

The Ferrari F40 unveiled in 1987 was the first supercar to surpass 200 mph, and stood as the final hurrah of Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988; it's fair to ask whether any of the technically superior followers from Ferrari and others have ever rekindled the allure the F40 created then. To mark it's 25th anniversary, the world's largest gathering of F40s was held Sunday at the Silverstone race course in England.

Organizers counted 60 F40s in the group, part of the annual Silverstone Classic held every year to celebrate and race old sports cars. It wasn't just that the twin-turbo V8 good for 471 hp could launch the F40 to 60 mph in less than four seconds. It was that the F40 was the first modern supercar to combine racing engineering with road manners, a formula followed since by Lamborghini and many others.

lol srika you being serious!!?

Scuderia all day i'll take that over the 458 as i mentioned earlier, or almost any other car for that matter.

On another note, is K&N filter's really worth double the cost of OEM??
I was at autozone looking all they had was K&N, STP and FRAM. STP and FRAM sound too cheap and are probably worse than OEM. K&N wasnt in stock but still its expensive.

Is there a middle ground between OEM & K&N, otherwise i'll just get OEM then.

actually I was poking some cynical fun at the websites that do that. they ask some unnecessary and sometimes irrelevant / illogical question about some photo they post. and, it annoys me sometimes. they do it because they read somewhere that they should ask a question along with a photo to increase activity on their page.

Somehow this cars surviving lol so what the heck gonna start doing stuff. Gonna start small with lighting so i dont waste money. Not interested in doing performance parts. Just fixing it up.

Cleaned up my headlights today with some wd-40 haha. The yellowish tint is gone. Still a slight haze, but its still prettty damn clear for just taking some common product.

Here's a pic comparing one headlight i did to the other i didnt

Excuses, excuses.

Ever consider getting one of those OTC headlight clearing kits? Might do a better job than WD-40.

What does the plate mean?

it worked for the most part haha

plates my last name haha... :dontstalkmenow:

gonna be taking out a significant loan soon, and until i get a job i wont be spending good money on the car haha. Need to do a brake fluid flush soon too, friend said he'd help me as he has the tools also.

Havent flushed power steering in a while, as i have the slightest leak and i think that if there's gunk in there its stopping the leak haha so i dont wanna flush it and have the gunk leave then i have a bigger leak

Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound works great for headlights. I just use a regular cotton rag, microfiber is too soft.

Saw a new A8L at the gym yesterday. It backed into a spot. When parked, the side mirrors folded and turned up. Reminds me of an aircraft...

I think it's just ineffective. The whole point of folding mirrors is so that it doesn't stick out. It would've been much more efficient for it to fold normally.

I agree, if they folded them normally theyd probably stick out less.

changing my cabin air filter right now since i've been driving it for four years and i figure it needs to be changed. I assumed i wouldnt need a dremel cause you know, 185,000 miles my parents must have done this.

Well what do you know its never been changed. I dont have a dremel so i may have to make due with a saw.

edit: nvm i do have a dremel

you need a dremel the first time you change it
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/updated-diy-ac-cabin-filter-change-567712/
look at the diy real quick to see a pic

Here's what they looked like

so nasty haha, i felt like i was gonna get a disease by breathing the air around it.

On another sadder note, my dad told me to recheck my radiator fluid, and it was like nearly empty the reservoir barely had any there and the radiator as well, I'm surprised my car didnt overheat.

Filled it up with a hose. Gonna have to keep a closer eye on this. Also need to add more power steering fluid as that got to the min. mark also. I hate all these leaks

Maybe your car's going through menopause. That would explain it drying up.

On a serious note, I know my Accord took a 50/50 mix of coolant and water. Might be the same for your car.

yea it does require 50/50 mixture. Didnt have any at home, i'll probably get some from the dealership when i go to get my engine air filter. For the time being water will suffice.

I like Wix filters.

Screw going to the dealership unless you have to, if you can look for a smaller parts store... and when looking for a cabin filter, any will do, but a charcoal embedded one will be better at reducing odors.

I haven't stepped foot in an Autozone or Pep Boys in years and I don't plan to for... well, ever.

I used snips to cut the tabs holding the cabin air filter cover. I didnt want to get plastic shit all over my car. The plastic is soft and not very thick anyway.

With most tools in my dads car i'm limited with whats in the garage. I had a saw or dremel lol. I put a plastic bag under although i'm pretty sure it didnt do much. Dont matter, its so small anyway it'll just vacuum right up
