Anyone here have any first hand experience with the previous generation Porsche Cayenne or know anyone that has had one.

I keep toying with the idea of picking up the GTS model and there is one that just popped up in my area in my price range. Still not sure I want to trade the F in for an SUV but might at least go take a look at it this weekend.

Hey, I noticed the "threadstarter" feature in the user 'information box' is gone. Did something happen?

about a month ago, IB took out the "levels and activity bars" citing that there was a security flaw with that code.

i'm assuming the "Threadstarter" feature went too

Have I? I don't know. Been looking at performance based SUV right now for a while. I have the TSX which is basically a weekend car at this point and something I will never get rid of.

I have three dogs and my gf has one so between us we have four. When we only had three we could still travel in my IS-F just barely. Now I will not put 4 dogs in my car ever basically.

I am currently borrowing my parents old 2003 Tahoe right now for dog duty but that is not really a long term solution unless somewhere down the road they decide to sell it and I would then own three cars myself which seems a little crazy.

So this is me more thinking about being practical than anything even though I really do want to keep the F and put headers on it next.

Just sad that you want to trade in the F

Performance SUV.. so many. Wait til the JGC TrackHawk comes out!

Not sure about the GTS.. although the gas guzzling JGC SRT8 is pretty much bulletproof.

depends on how much you wanna spend, GX or LX? Those are as reliable as SUVs get.

never mind you said performance SUV. I heard X5M is not bad.

I don't really want to trade in the F. In an ideal world I would keep it and get a performance SUV as well. (When I find my money tree I will keep it to myself )

The current JGC SRT8 is even on my list if I could find one in the right range. I would prefer a performance wagon but hey we don't get any nice wagons over here as you know.

X5M is also something I have looked at but I drive a lot and worry about long term reliability with it. One of my favorite SUVs though.

I am not even close to making a purchase but something I have been mulling over in my head for the past 6 months or so.

$40k is basically my budget if I would trade in the IS-F. Sadly the F is only worth about $20k anymore since I have 135k miles on it and it is a 2008.

The V Wagon has always been a thought but saw one the other day with the back open and there was considerably less space in it than I expected. The Allroad has definitely been on my radar as well expect it seems to fall short on the performance aspect. I was looking and not sure if there is a chip for it but the chip for the regular A4 can get the car to almost 400 hp and tq which would be plenty.

I think the Vagon is plenty roomy. You're not putting a full size bed in it, but maybe a futon / twin size. Definitely enough room for fam + pups, or just tons of room for the pups with the back seats folded down. I think it might have more or equal space to most mid-size SUVs.

I really think you can't go wrong with a JGC SRT8. I haven't heard one issue with it. V6 ecoboost explorer is quick as shit. Sub-6s 0-60 plus excellent gas mileage. Something to consider.. not something that will snap your neck back, but that's freaking lightning for a truck / suv. Even the new raptor is replacing the 6.2L V8 with the ecoboost V6. Mileage is decent too.. for a 5000 lb brick.. something like 16/22.

I'd keep the F. $20k sounds outrageous even for +100k miles.

I guess I am basing this off last Christmas when we went home to visit family with 4 dogs and supplies to be away from home for 12 days straight. That probably will never happen again is it was like the perfect change of having the right amount of time and vacation days and holidays being during the week. We barely fit everything in the Tahoe with the 4 dogs taking staying together in the back seat. Could a Vagon be had for $40k though with Recaros? It would have to be an auto as my daily needs to be an auto so the we can share driving time on long trips. I am not scared of RWD in winter with proper snow tires. I do it with the F right now. A V of some sort has always seemed like a logical upgrade to make from the F.

This is most likely what will happen but I have the itch bad for something new as this is the longest I have driven the same car ever as a daily driver. Before this I was pretty much rotating cars every 3 years when living with my parents. They would always cycle new cars every 5-6 years but with 3 kids that meant cars being passed between us all too. The F will be 5 years in September for me. I know terrible problem to have.
