General Car Talk Discussion Thread
Ya, but the Moto 360 isn't out yet :P It's a nice feature, but I also want to see more usb ports that have power to charge. (4 would be nice)
I bought a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL as my commuter car and I really enjoy driving it. I am going through a basic maintenance routine to bring everything up to speed (fluids, torque, etc.) and the car looks to be in very good shape. Thanks for letting me join!
^ Sure. Talked about it here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=231

Went to Monterey/Carmel yesterday to look at cars and they closed the 17 mile drive where u saw the Goldrush/fuel run guys from last year. Saw some decent cars this year. I'll post them up when I get home in the other thread.
I used to be an NIASE certified mechanic back in the day. I can do early retirement in less that 3 years and I'm thinking of going back to being a mechanic (plus my retirement pay) or just being a writer.
I talked my fiancée out of the Optima. I told her, do you want to finish your masters degree and roll up in a Kia?
So now, she wants either:
1. CLA
2. IS 250
3.CT200H
I told her MB and BMW charge you for every little thing. She doesn't care for Acura since my 2G TL was a money pit, and she hated that car, so I'd like to see her in a Lexus. We'll see.

very cool! would love to see photos. did you just happen to be vacationing out there?
I would personally take the CLA, but for whatever financial reasons that may arise, the IS is a good choice. CT is decent, but it's not a car you should buy for the badge.
It will be designed to support the most popular phones, so it's not really an issue. If it is, there's also the available, more conventional option of plugging it in.
I doubt that a bit considering this isn't an option that makes or breaks a buy, so anyone looking to buy the car 5 years down the line likely won't pass because they can't use this feature.

No, I'm in Fresno, and our coast house is in the Pismo area. Both are about a 2.5 hour drive to Monterey/Carmel. So we spent the weekend in Pismo, but drove to Monterey for the day.
Next year I'm actually going to pay to get into Pebble Beach and maybe stay in Monterey or Pacific Grove for the weekend. Hopefully money won't be an issue next year at this time

If you guys want to see pics before I upload them, just click the Instagram tab on my profile. They're basically the same pics. It was such a clusterfuck out there this year that the only place to get somewhat decent pics was at Cannery Row. Most of the pics were taken from the car where the dash made too much glare for some of the pics.
I was hoping to see BC's new Gembella GT, but that was at 17 mile drive, which was shut down this year.

Anyone in LA area wants to check this out? E46 M3 6MT. My friend's friend's friend is selling it.

The CLA is a pretty fun car & a lot quicker than I expected it to be. I'm 6'0" & had no problems getting in & out, and had room in the back seat even (a bit of a squeeze in) but knees weren't touching the seat.
M235i wouldn't be bad either.
Edit: Or, with a little wait time, the new C-Class looks nice as well.

friend is building this Viper - crazy to see where this car has gone, this is the same one I had a ride in at Gingerman Raceway many years ago, in racing trim.

Here is one more front mount build on my personal car that has modified with a 4-link rear suspension. It has an 8500 RPM dry sumped motor and a front mount twin turbo setup different from the ones posted below. It will weigh about 2800 lbs when finished. It was built to go 300+ MPH at Bonneville, 6's at the drag strip and I will try to go 0-300 MPH in 1 mile.....

Welcome!

no she's white

woops. that's gotta SUCK.
