Infinity has been irrelevant in my book ever since they got rid of G35/37 model name.
Their cars all look like a sea cucumber dick in different size.
In all seriousness, I will have to say agree-to-disagree with you: Their current iteration of the G37 as the Q50 looks pretty darn nice to me.
Sure, the JX is not attractive and you could argue the FX's look is not for everyone. But, the QX56 (whatever it is called now) is just like any standard-uber-sized SUV...more or less box-like. Not sure where you're getting that sea-dick idea from?

The G35/37 used to be a gotta-have-it car for the young car enthusiasts. Now, it's more like a wannabe Lexus. Looks like a boat, drives like a boat. It just feels like its in a segment between 3 series and 5 series.

Have you driven the new Q50...? And sure, you could argue the Adaptive Steering took away the sportiness but, Nissan heard the people and are ditching it in the upcoming model.
I've had a Q50 as a loaner and can say IMO, it's a pretty fun car. Again, not sure what your basing it on...maybe against BMW, it may not be as great but against the Lexus IS? I think the Infiniti can hold its own just fine.
Yes, it's Audi's fault of not rotating my tires!!!!!
Just wait, it won't be the tires. It'll be some super obscure part that needs to be shipped in from Germany at a cost of $600 and requires 17 hours of labor to replace.

Let's name that BMW.......
I counted at one point, there are 75+ different series/model/engine combos...
First step in recovery is admitting there's a problem.

Isn't that coming this year or next? That and the M7 are the cars that actually need to be released.

Sure but just in terms of appearance, the Lexus takes the cake. That and Toyota quality > Nissan quality. It's still a good car but it's ugly and I'd honestly buy a TLX before I ever bought a Nissan Qwhateveritisnow.
They obviously still sell though so there is a market for them and people are buying them up so I see your point.

Yes, it felt like a boat compared to 3 series and IS. I could felt the heaviness of the car.

i have. and I was one of the die hard Infinit Fan since 03.
I have had 03 G35C 6mt, 06 G35C 6mt, 08 G37C 6mt and when the Q50 came out, I literally said... "same shit again with different face, i have had enough"
There is nothing wrong with VQ, but god damn, cars are not dryers and washers. I have the same problem with J series and IS350.
Oh and the name change had done nothing but lowering their sale #s.
Whenever i see a brand new 2015 Q60 on the road, I would say.. um.. when did I have that car? oh yah 2008.. 7 years ago and they look identical!!

It was only a month ago that we told you about a 1988 Porsche 959 finished in black that would be going under the hammer at one of the auctions taking place during August’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Now we have word of a red 1987 example, another Komfort model, that will soon be making its way down to Monterey.
That’s rather impressive considering there were just over 300 959s built during the late ‘80s, and only around 50 of these are believed to have made it over to the U.S. That’s because the model was never federalized—apparently Porsche didn’t want to crash test them—and most of the cars that made it here were brought over under ‘Show Or Display’ paperwork.
A change in the law back in 2001 meant 959s could be made legal with modifications, typically for exhaust emission and crash protection reasons. And now that 959s are more than 25 years old, they are pretty much free to import using standard methods. It’s also why you see them popping up more often at local auctions.
This particular car was the 125th example built. It was completed on December 18, 1987, and was originally delivered to a Japanese enthusiast by the name of Yoshiho Matsuda. By the late ‘90s, the car was sold to American Jamie Mazzotta who later passed it on to the Tony Hart collection, which is now offering it up for sale.
Hart sent this chassis, which had recorded but 3,600 miles from new, to Canepa Design in Scotts Valley, California, for a lengthy and comprehensive modernization to meet U.S. standards. The five-year project, costing some $180,000 alone, was completed in 2004. This included upgrades to the car like new turbochargers, new suspension and several weight-saving mods.
According to the sale description, the car’s turbocharged 2.8-liter flat-six is good for 576 horsepower and 501 pound-feet of torque. This allows it to hit 60 mph from rest in just 3.2 seconds and top out somewhere close to 215 mph. The current mileage on the car is 4,720 miles.
It will be sold at a Bonhams auction in the lead up to the Pebble Beach Concours, which this year takes place the weekend starting August 15. Visit our dedicated hub for more of our event coverage.
I was gonna bid on that Porsche until I saw the aftermarket radio. No thanks.
I think this is still one of the coolest Porsches ever. It's too bad it's been modified though. Although I understand why, it just seems sacrilegious to do so.
And who the hell buys such a car and never drives it?! Blasphemy!!
while the images aren't the best JPG quality wise, I still can see serious wear and tear on the steering wheel and seats - the faded areas, cracks, uneven, etc
ok - the images are garbled because the JPG's were blown up. Look at the original link and you can see the images w better compression (although smaller) - you can see how beat up the seats and steering wheel are:
looking at the 9,000 mile example above, it mentions how the odometer was swapped out - I think this was a standard part for US legalization - so that's what I would guess is going on with the beat up one - it has a new odometer that reads 4700 miles.
description at above site says nothing about odometer being replaced - hmmm maybe the car was just driven hard for those 4700 miles. Tracked?
THE MOTORCAR OFFERED
The 125th of 225 examples built, this stunning 959 Komfort was completed December 18, 1987, and sold to well-known Japanese enthusiast Yoshiho Matsuda, joining his impressive Porsche Museum in Hakone. In the late 1990s, this example was purchased by collector and vintage racer Jamie Mazzotta of Newport Coast, California, and soon afterward joined the Tony Hart collection. Hart sent this chassis, which had recorded but 3600 miles from new, to Canepa Design in Scotts Valley, California, for a lengthy and comprehensive modernization to meet U.S. standards. The five-year project, costing some $180,000, was completed in 2004. It included replacing the original adjustable-height suspension system with "S"-spec gas struts and titanium springs (saving several hundred pounds), and bringing the engine to 959S standards with new parallel 993-type turbochargers and wastegates that provide full boost at 1500 rpm. The Motronic engine management system was also upgraded to meet stringent California emissions standards. The mechanical upgrades produced breathtaking performance; the engine now delivers 576hp at 6100 rpm, and 501 ft/lbs of torque at 4500. 0-60 time has been trimmed to a mere 3.2 seconds and the car is said to be capable of 215 mph. The original "Tri-gray" leather interior was changed to all-black leather, one of just six 959s to receive that interior treatment. The factory Denloc light-alloy wheels were black powder-coated. As part of a major service ($44,000) performed by Canepa in 2014, New Pirelli tires were installed, the rear pair upgraded to 275/40 ZR17, an inch and a half wider than standard. This amazing automobile is fitted with a $10,000 Eclipse stereo system, and is supplied with extensive original Japanese registration documents (with English translations), U.S. title and registration. The recorded mileage at the time of catalog writing was 4720.
Look at the other 2 959s on the market with those same seats; chances are the leather just doesn't hold up well over 30 years, but the interior is far from "beat". Looking far too much into it.

this Supra went up for sale here in Chicago today - everything exact same spec as mine was - just a tad fewer miles - 15k. Not sure they will get $99,800 but who knows - I think this car will continue to appreciate. Shaking my head I wish I had some idea how much this car would be worth in the future. Anyways
Not sure where to stick this, perhaps this thread is appropriate. 13 minutes of nothing else other than BMWs getting smashed against walls. I don't know about you, but I find it very satisfying watching German cars getting smashed into pieces... call it a fetish or something
