I had em made!

Artscow.com had a promotion a bit ago for three 20x20 printed canvas's for 20 bucks shipped, which in insane, so I used three super high res photos I found that maintained a similar theme and then three weeks later I had my cheap art

Then I went to an art store and bought the canvas frames for 10 bucks and wrapped them myself using a youtube tutorial

Im very happy with the way they turned out, and canvas art is definitely the way to go now that I know what it is lol

Got Conti DWSs on around Christmas, and after a few months of driving... meh.

They're much quieter than the Michelins that were on before, I love the way the tread looks, and their wider sidewall (225 on 6.5") saved the rims from the unforgiving wrath of my 17-year-old brother. But the soft sidewall drives me nuts

Didn't think you'd notice it in everyday driving, but you do. It makes the whole car feel softer, and it's noticeably floatier at highway speeds.

Oh well, at least there's grip in the rain.

Maybe an autoX day or two will change my opinion... but until then, meh. Stiffer sidewall for sure next time.

Those look great! And that was an insane deal! They're $18 each now. Might have to copy your idea. Different pictures of course

my wife is getting bored of her 2010 A4 Avant.... it's only been 2.5 years. the car only has 18k miles too. lol

it's much better for her to just lease a car than purchase, yeah? she probably will want to change her car every 3 years.

Would we lose a lot of money if we decide to sell the avant and lease something else maybe at the end of this year?

We've never leased a car before.

oh btw, when i was in korea for my wedding, i test drove my brother-in-law's 2012 GTI. it was pretty fun but compare to my car, i should say it was pretty boring..

the suspension was softer than i had imagined. i drove it pretty hard, much harder than i did when i test drove the same car in LA.

one thing though.... the DSG fking rocks. it's just so amazing. the car doesn't feel like an automatic transmission. and the sound it generates when i downshift.. not that i would prefer it to the regular 6MT, but if i must get an auto car, it would be this transmission.

and another thing is that every GTI in Korea comes loaded with every option that GTI offers. It even comes with the Golf R tailights.

Confused, does she have a 3 year lease now? If so then end of the year would make it 3 years if its currently 2.5 years....

Anyways in most cases if you have a couple of months left on a lease i think the dealer can sometimes work something out to end it to get you in something else.

Or if its a great lease deal then someone may want to take it over. Did that on my Z4 after 3 months into the lease.

Sorry about that.

We purchased the A4 Avant.

But since my wife likes to change her car every 3 years, we are thinking of leasing a car for her instead of purchasing/selling the car.

Yeah, she was just a "friend" back then. Now she's my wife.

It's a very fun little car. We love it. It hauls so much stuff in the back and goes around corner like a little hatchback.

"friend" as in the parents couldnt know about it till it was serious?

Really depends on how much you mean by losing a lot. Best thing is to see what her car is worth currently and what her payoff is if there is one.

Consider the leasing aspect of it a totally different situation IMO

The pictures were monstrous, like 3k + resolution, i used google image search filtering to narrow it down to super high res shots for the canvas printing.

what sucks is that there arent alot of photos posted online in such high quality, but if you can find three that fit your theme you are in luck.

For me It was between an NSX homage and a Cayman homage (two of my all time favorites) and the Cayman ones went better together so I went with those!

I have pics of the mock ups If i can find em again

Edit: Google search is amazing

I really should save pics on my computer this happens all the time; anyway here are the original two themes I was debating using images I scoured in ultra high res

Windshields FTMFW.

Speaking of, when do you folks change your windshield? Only when it's cracked?

My factory windshield has countless rock chips, swirls, and a small filled crack. I don't plan on replacing it anytime soon unless an unrepairable crack shows up. Yet I've heard of people changing their windshield and saying it's a night and day difference.

Awfully similar taste to mine. Except a Cinque and a F40 for first and last instead.

Impressive, just learned the other day that the CGT has around 10% drivetrain loss on the dyno.

So I visited this local Lexus dealer to check out the new GS F Sport. I thought it would be a good car for my wife.

I know the styling of the car is a bit too much and for some of you, but I thought the F Sport one looked fantastic.

Then, I test drove it. I had read several video/magazine reviews and head to head comparisons with the new 535i prior to the test drive. And the general consensus of all the review was that this GS is a completely different animal from the previous GS, which was extremely boring to drive.

The car has a very nice steering feel. It was so direct. The response was awesome. Right when I got on to the road, I repeatedly wiggle the steering right and left, and the car answered almost instantly. Couldn't believe I was driving a Lexus. When I was making the turns, the car felt very planted and had not much of body roll.

And this fancy GS comes with this knob by the gearbox that you can change the car's settings of ECO, Normal, Sport, Sport 2 or + (i forgot). But I think the first Sport setting will change the throttle mapping and gearing. And the second Sport level changes the suspension damping rate and the steering feel. The car felt noticeably "sporty" with the second level of Sport. It was just... very fun to drive. I tend to get a little excited when I test drive a brand new car, but yeah, the new GS was very engaging to drive.

And the interior is just awesome. There's nothing to say about it. It comes with so many goodies along with this giant Navi screen. It's the biggest I've ever seen in a car.

But I have to say the gauges were pretty boring looking though.

The fully loaded GS F-Sport had the MSRP of $56k, which I thought was not bad at all. I think the 535i with similar option would cost up to $65k.

Anyway, I left the dealership with a big grin on my face.
