General Car Talk Discussion Thread
Well, the VW wins!
I drove a TDI SE DSG and a TDI S (just to try a manual). I was surprised at how much better the manual seemed to drive than the DSG. Maybe it's that I am not used to a dual clutch, but I pretty much have decided to get (order) a 2015 TDI SE manual in tungsten silver. Charlotte, Atlanta, nor DC have any also I am debating the lighting package but would like to get it.
I am planning to head to the dealership tomorrow with the bike to see how it fits and then start crunching numbers.

There are none on the eastern sea board but there happens to be one on the boat as I type. It now has my name on it.
I am very happy with the price. I got it for $100 less than the average of the True Car and Edmunds prices. I should get it sometime the week of Sept 22-26.
I drove both the Impreza and the Crosstrek. I liked the Crosstrek until I got it on the interstate. It just felt a little "off" at highway speeds. The Impreza didn't really stand a chance, but it was not the fault of the car. I was interested in the Impreza Sport Limited. Due to the 2015s coming out in a couple months there is only one available and it is in Florida. Also, by the time I got it to the interstate, the traffic was too shitty to get it up to highway speeds. They kept pushing the Sport Premium they had on the lot and it was starting to piss me off.
The original plan was to not look for a new vehicle until sometime next Spring and the 2015 (or 2016?) Golf Wagen TDI was going to definitely be on the list. The time table was moved up due to the accident.
Pretty cool.
Deadmau5 Does Uber In His New McLaren 650S Spider: Video
Having given up his famous Nyan Cat-themed Ferrari 458 Italia because of a dispute with Ferrari over the use of his own "Purrari" badges on the car, Canadian DJ Deadmau5 has since switched over to a McLaren. His McLaren of choice is the 650S Spider, which he’s already started modding with vehicle customizer Sekanskin. The car was also given its own cat-themed name: Meowclaren.
But rather than just let the McLaren sit in a garage, Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, likes to drive the car around his home town of Toronto. And rather than do it alone, he’s signed up for Uber X and is giving lifts to fellow users of the ride sharing service.

Stopped by the BMW dealer yesterday to see a 2-series in person. They only had one and it wasn't a M-Sport (228i X-Drive).
The 435i M-Sport though ... Really good looking car. Audi's going to have to blow the doors off with the next A5/S5 because that range is becoming very competitive.

BRB going out to hail a taxi.
Haven't seen them side by side, but... is the 2 series taller than the 4? That's the impression I get when seeing them on the road.
Agreed on the looks.

I think I would rather have a 428i M-Sport even though it would be slower if the money was equal.
No Speed, no care.
But if the shifter is similar to the 6MT with the smaller engine, it'll be a pleasure. Only one that I'm not a fan of is the shifter in the 1st gen Speed3.

Not blaming just BMW. Cost creep has gone out of control.
