I think the Williams cars are the best looking this season
The Merc team is dominating, but I do hope Williams racks up a few podiums (& not just for my own points )

That's A LOT of money for any car, let alone the marque that is going to put it on the same lot as a 2-Active Tourer and an i3. It's silly money. Doesn't really change the fact that I find it to be a beautiful high performance GT car.

Just to put this in perspective, in 1999, my wife and bought our first house - 1,900 sq. ft, 3 bedrooms + den + 2-car garage; $140k.

Money is a non-issue if you're Altegris/BoostedJack. They dumped $3,000,000 each just 2 minutes ago into cars.

And frankly, I have no issues with +$100K BMWs...Z8 was something I drooled over (and still do) and would pay the premium for if I were BoostedJack-rich.

Same goes for the soon-to-be released i8. It's not uber-powerful but just amazing in tech and innovation. Looks good too.

So, $135K for a 560HP turbo V8 luxury saloon for the M6 Gran Coupe...? Hell yeah.

Yup. That's what the RS7 costs.

Meanwhile the Aston Martin Rapide is $200K. The Bentley Flying Spur (coupe-ish) is $200K. The Panamera Turbo S is $180K plus their retarded option list.

It's hard to think of BMWs in that range but it's either competitive or a bargain depending on how you look at it.

yeah that's pretty crazy to put it into perspective like that. I think I'm just not up to speed with the current costs of cars. It is a sweet looking ride though. I'd buy one used, for $89k.

Depends on your budget, really. If a person has zero issues buying an M5 or E-class AMG, the M6 Gran Coupe is just another option...abeit a touch longer car, I think. And better looking, IMO.

Although, dollar for dollar, if you are to compare the BMW coupe "sedan", it is pricier than their immediate competition (i.e. CLS and A7).

I'm likely going back to sedan in 3-4 years and pricing out a diesel-optioned V6 with similar amenities/options, the BMW 6er Gran Goupe appears to be about $5K more than Audi for their A7 TDI. But, who knows what is out there in the market at that time.

Just nice to imagine and play what-if, I guess.

By the way, used 2011 Panamera 4S with 35K miles ... Under $70K ($118K+ MSRP)

Interesting. Given the crowd you're telling us you run with and their $$$$$$$ cars, it's surprising you are not up to speed with current costs of cars.

So, ~40-50% off after 4 years...sounds right.

So then I ask myself, is a $70K Panamera 4S a better buy than a new 550i, E550, or a S6?

Or how about a 2011 Panamera 4S and a 2014 Equus Ultimate?

No thanks on the Porsche Crosstour.

Would much rather have a M6 GC, RS7, or Rapide despite any possible variances in performance or price.

It belongs on the tier of "cars I'll never want because of how they look" in which the Aztek and GT-R both belong. I'm not saying they're all Aztek-ugly, but I still wouldn't want one.

Indeed, it is. I've seen a couple of really nice ones... lowered, flush fitment. Not hellaflush, flush. Virgin wheel gap. But the rear still looks like a jelly belly. Or a beached whale.

The general shape is just too similar...

ROFL. There's a CrossTour in my neighborhood. I would pay to drive a Panamera before I'd drive a free Crosstour

Out of those listed, the CLS would be my choice (excluding the E63 Estate )
$115k for an AMG CLS, I think I'd rather pony the extra 20k & get a loaded E63 Estate.

Interior is nice to look at but it is a nightmare to operate.

My boss has a Turbo that i helped him to get and i have driven it plenty of time.

For a sports car, it is great. But considering the cars that it is competing against, it is TOO sports car like. Noisy, stiff suspension, and god, the #s of buttons....

I loved it, but i could see a 50/60 years old CEO would hate driving it oh and 295 25 20 in the rear does not help with the comfort 1 bit.

Panamera's turn my head more times than I am willing to admit. Well, ok so much for that.

Some of them have a nice sound and I can't help but want to know what it is.

and some of them are setup pretty nice visually too.

Mercedes GLA Takes a Journey to a Galaxy Far, Far Away

"If there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's farthest from." - Luke Skywalker

The Tunisian desert, upon first glance, is nothing more than a dry and vast wasteland. Still, this barren place is quite beautiful despite its rough conditions and sand storms. It also happened to be the locale filmmaker George Lucas chose as the setting for Luke Skywalker’s fictional home planet, Tatooine, in "Star Wars." Since the original film premiered in 1977, fans have taken pilgrimages to the location, where the production team left several iconic set pieces behind.

And now Mercedes-Benz has taken a journey there as well, only without a land speeder. Instead, the new GLA was chosen to trek across the Tunisian desert to this historic film site. No Sand People or Jawas interfered with the photo shoot.[/quote]
