Get a CPO if you're looking at the S-60 or S80- tell the wife that depreciation hit for one year is the cost of FIVE OR MORE widescreen HD LCD TVs. The CPO S60s are starting for mid-20s here in CA, and 2008 CPOs barely break $30K (asking), which isn't much less than CPO S80s on the east coast.

I don't trust the durability of CVTs in general, and particularly where they are attached to high-HP cars like the Maxima. Audi has stopped using the CVT, as have most automakers who had CVTs.

New Volvo's are a BAD idea. Their re-sale value is some of the worst I've seen in todays market. Even 06 models are close to half of what they sold for.

I think the 2008 Accord Sedan (V6 with Nav) is in the lead....Here is a quote I got:

2008 HONDA ACCORD EXL V-6 SEDAN AUTO NAVIGATION is $29038.

Not bad, more room then the TL and TSX...Navigation, bluetooth and Aux jack. Looks like a winner.

my gf was looking at the V6 coupe, and we got the price down to about $26,100 (no navi) before TTL...but that was before she changed her mind and wanted the 4 cylinder.

great prices on the accord right now, imo.

Actually, I got some other quotes:
$27,115.00
$27,923
Same car, all before tax, title, etc....But still a good deal. I'm trying to see a reason to go to Acura, but can't see one.

for sub 35, i would consider the current TL type-S if they're still around.

but you're getting a lot car for under 30 out the door.

For me, the only reason to get an Acura over an Accord is for transmission & suspension reasons- the TSX should be a little firmer handling-wise and you can get a manual trans, but is slower than the Accord V-6 in a straight line; the TL-S auto trans is firmer and quicker than the Accord, while the manual trans type-S is pretty much sold out here in Los Angeles.

Otherwise, an Accord is a good car, regardless.

And I think you're spending more time looking for a car than for your house!

go with the accord

oh and 09's are coming out in a month or two so see if you can get the 08 even lower

Interesting indeed. Might as well check it out if you're looking at spending close to that for an Accord anyway. That's about $4-$5k off the price of a TL w/ Nav, right?

They do need them moved to make way for the new TL's...

Right, the fully loaded V6 accord was about 29K, so for 2K more the TL with NAV...Weird..

New Maxima looks IMO. Also this probably won't affect you as much as it did me but for some reason insurance for myself was significantly cheaper on the TL than the Accord. When I was shopping the insurance on the TL was cheaper than Accord,TSX,RL,

Edit: if you don't get an Acura though theres a good chance you could become a MOD on here so choose carefully.

the main reason to go acura> honda is service. W/ the lux aspect you get a loaner etc. That is huge for me.
