There is an Infiniti 2008 G35x AWD (Platinum Graphite with Graphite Leather), premium package and navigation package (and a lot of dead bugs) in my garage...
What a day, I am beat...The Infiniti is sick, the ride is incredible and the toys inside are nuts....I have a lot to read though...
Wife and I started out at Volvo. She is pretty set on the XC70 (she also drove the XC90 and we ruled out the V70). We put a refundable deposit out on a XC70, but will shop around a bit for better price tomorrow. The Volvo is nuts though with the safety features...It pretty much beeps and flashes any time anything comes close to you (Blind spots, adaptive cruise control, etc.). The nav is cool, it pops out. They aren't cheap though (came to about 41K, but fully loaded included DVD in the back).
Then we went to Acura. I test drove a TL Type-S....Wasn't terrible, but really reminded me of my 2004 TSX, which I though was a bad thing. Price was 32,800 before tax and tags, etc. My wife really liked the RDX (MDX was too large for her). We like the RDX, peppy and cheaper then then XC70, but the trunk is smaller then the Volvo.
Then to Infiniti, loved the car. Only complaint is that is a bit small, but not too bad. Wife was sort of interested in the FX, but doesn't like the looks of it.
Then went to Nissan and drove the 2009 Maxima (was loaded with the nav and premium package, pretty much the same as the Infiniti. I liked it a lot. It was a bit larger then the G35, but not as fast. The fit and finish wasn't as good as the Infiniti. The car was listed around 38K, but the dealer wasn't going lower then 36K and change. So for around the same price, I could get the Infiniti. I think if the Maxima came in around 34K, I would have got it, but for the same price, I got the Infiniti.
So, Ill take pics soon. Since it was so late, I am going back to the dealer in a few days for the initial prep (the did a quick one). Ill also be busy reading up on the technology (nav is awesome, it has a 9GB drive to load songs into, plus it has a cable specifically for the Ipod). Tomorrow, we will get my wife's car, most likely a Volvo XC70.
Anyway, Im beat...Thanks for the advice all...

Congrats! Glad to hear you decided on one, and that you love what you got. What is the estimated MPG on the Infinity?

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Nice....
Congrats on the G car and the Volvo.
Finally a smart person who looked at a Volvo wagon and realized it would have more room than some SUV type vehicles, and is a really surprising driver. My V70 was excellent, and it gave me 5 great years of service. I also found the Volvo dealer to be quite good with our service.
And you'll be very surprised on how versatile the Volvo can be....

Enjoy the G! I'm curious to hear how well it integrates with an iPod - does it give you full control over playlists, songs, etc from the car stereo controls & steering wheel?

-Credit to Ravi and bgsm1th!!
-Thanks Dom, you hoser....
-elessar - The Ipod intergration is incredible....It came with the cable and it just plays on the Nav screen like you are looking at the Ipod. Sounds great. Plus, you can load songs onto a compact Flash Card or burn CD's to the 9GB HD in it...Plus with XM, it has every music input option.
Well, Im posting from the Lexus dealer. They are now prepping my wife's new ride. 2009 Lexus RX with Nav and other good stuff (well, almost everything). Next week they are going to install rear seat DVD in the headrest and an Ipod hookup. Came to about 42K. We dropped the Volvo due to size and almost got a BMW X3, but dropped it due to lack of techy things (nav sucked, no DVD).
Pics soon.
Thanks.
