Congrats, and for posting pics

Between the new G35, new IS or ES and TL, I'd choose the G35 too

nice, well i'm going to wait it out until i see the price for the G37x sedan. Were they also discounting the EX35 too? I don't know still if I'm going to get the RDX or EX35 or wait for the G37x.

They were discounting all the 08's.

The RX is a solid choice. Good looking and built well with a great interior from what I remember.

And 42K just has me I wouldn't be able to walk away for less than high 50's up here.

Yep, its real nice and its an 09. That price also included a $2500 rear seat (headrest) DVD system and Ipod hookup. The interior is real nice and comfortable, like a couch on wheels. I did ask my wife if she was collecting social security though....

We dropped the Volvo due to size and almost got a BMW X3, but dropped it due to lack of techy things (nav sucked, no DVD).

Pics soon.

Thanks.
Congrats.

My boss and his wife just got an RX400h this week. They're all hyped up about the gas mileage, which I can't understand. It's only rated at 25 city/hwy combined. They are coming from a V8 Sequoia so I suppose it's an improvement, but nothing to write home about IMO.

Must feel good to have your cars now, though.

Congrats! Great looking cars.

That's funny that you got both of those cars because my best friend's parents have the same exact cars, just the previous generation of both. The RX has about 120K on the clock and has never given them a single issue. Good choices.

NICE! My wife drives an RX as well and we love it. We don't have the iPod kit, so I'd be curious how that works when you get it. Thanks for the feedback on the G's integration - sounds good, except for the charging issue.

We also have the headrest DVD system. Our one complaint is that you can only play the sound through the radio from the left DVD player. You can play the movie from the left DVD on the right screen as well, so it's not a huge deal, but it would be better if you could have either of the players broadcast their audio via FM. We didn't realize when we first got it installed. I did ask about it briefly the one time I took it in for an oil change, but the guy didn't know offhand and I didn't think it was worth a big delay to find out. When you get yours, I'm curious if you have the same limitation.

One quick tip on the RX: If you ever hear a rattle coming from the back, check the two little latch thingies on the sides of the trunk/hatch opening. The things that you use to secure the cargo cover when you pull it closed. If you're not using the cargo cover, you need to keep both of those things in the pushed-in position, or they will rattle like crazy. Learned that at the Club Lexus site.

Congrats again on both purchases! I seriously considered the G35 back in '04 when I bought my TL. I think if the interior and electronics of the G had been up to par with the TL's back then, we would probably have the exact same 2 cars as you guys right now. Enjoy!

Hmmm... If there's a hard-wired option I wanna know where it is! Maybe they didn't do ours right? I will check it out more thoroughly tonight but there didn't seem to be any other way to get sound, besides the headphones (which our daughter is still too young for).

Do you have the 09? They said that there are two aux ports in the HU, so you can have the DVD go in and either Sat Radio or the Ipod.....It goes in Wednesday for the install, Ill let you know.

No, we have an '07, although I didn't think there were any major changes between the '07 and the '09. We don't have Sat Radio or iPod hooked up, so even one AUX input would've been enough. I'm almost positive we tried AUX after we got the DVD installed and it did nothing, so then I messed around with it and found the FM option on the DVD... I'll try it again tonight just to make sure. I guess it's also possible they didn't hook it up right.

So... yeah, now I realize that I never tried the AUX button because the damn RX doesn't have an AUX button. I tried AM/SAT and the MODE button on the steering wheel, but nothing brought up anything other than AM, FM or CD. Looks like all they setup was FM modulation. If that's not the case when you get yours done, I need to have a little chat with my dealer. Where did you get yours, Whiskers, Thompson Lexus? We go to Wilkie.

Just got it back from the dealer to get its initial detailing, so I figured it will never look like this again....

So the DVD player is FM Do the dealer is a dolt....The Ipod integration is ok at best..It works and its hard wired. It plays, shuffles, does playlists and shows in the Nav screen...but the controls are not easy....But maybe Im just trying to compare with my Infiniti and its not even a close race....

Here is the Rant alert....My wife ordered the dual headrest DVD system. She goes to pick it up and its the the pull down screen (Im not there with her). She goes back in and acts confused and tells the service dept. They start acting confused too. Basically they say since its late, they need to check on what happened. They then say they don't know if they can fix it easily since they dug out the roof lining. The pull down was about 800 cheaper then the headrests. Im telling my wife to leave it it (it looks good IMO) and tell them to take 1/2 off....We'll see how it goes....

She was pissed....
