Just something to take note of while test driving, I haven't driven one in awhile so these 09's may not have these problems.
Some definitely consider Hyundai, Honda, and Acura to be in very different leagues. Obviously, Whiskers needs to really love what he's getting, so if it's not for him - it's not for him. I only suggested it since he seemed so focused on getting a good deal and feeling good about finding the best value for the money.

Understood, but I want a mixture of a good car at a good price...

I decided not to go drive a Genesis because $40k was just way out of my budget but had I been looking in the $40k range I would have definitely gone to drive one.

New owners are raving about them. There are some first-year decisions that baffle me like the trunk not being fully lined but other than that I think they're going to have a hit.

My point being that your neighbors might come see your Azera and how nice it is and realize that you're not cheap, you're just smarter than they are

And now I'll let MSL82 take over fanboi duties

Actually, you could get a V6 with the Premium package (no 18s) for about $34k. But I hear you.

I gotcha. I'm just teasing. You just seem so stressed.....The only other person to ever create a 9 page "Which Car?" thread 3 months ahead of time without ever an answer is NickyPass.

In other news, I wouldn't care what the neighbours thought of my nice-looking car. In other words, I think I'd be more concerned about them having to see a rusted piece of junk from 1981 sitting, broken down on the front lawn for a year than any (any brand) well-kept car in my driveway. Other than that, who cares.

Yea, its not a Type S, but I don't care about it. 2 other dealers matched it online.

Im getting quotes for a new 2008 G35 Sedan with Navigation / Premium for about $32.5K, but all these dealers are telling me that the cars are not easy to get.....

I would take that over the cars mentioned.
I'm not sure what the weather is like where you're at year around, but keep in mind the G35 is RWD while the TL and Accord are both FWD.
I think the G35 is a GREAT choice for you.

The dealer is trying to get me to go for the AWD. Do you think RWD is ok enough?

Only with snow tires. So be prepared to dish out another $500 or so.

My best friend has a 2008 G37S outfitted with winter tires for the inclimate months, and he has NO problems what-so-ever, even in the brutal Minnesota winter.
But like Dom said, the extra $500-$700 for winter tires is a must if you're going to see snow.

Prepare for a quote higher than $35k for an 08 G35x w/ nav.
However, you can find a sub-10k mile used 07 G35x w/ nav. for under $35k.

I think that 31.5 quote you have for a TL is a winner. Plus if you have two other dealers matching that price you'll probably have quite a choice as far as color combos go. Also, IMO, the TL has much more character looks wise than the G35 sedan. The coupe though? Tough decision there but you are looking for the family hauler, right? You're not talking about the coupe, are you?

I'd go with the TL and be done with it all. After 2 years with mine, I still do the "look back", and don't find myself wishing for features that it doesn't have.

32K for a Type-S? That is a good deal. What about a TSX those are like little TLs but better on gas? If you dont like the 09 maybe you could find an 08.

Not many dealers have them yet.

If I had to be frugal and all parental-unitesque I would definitely go drive the Mazda.

I just hate threads like this though.... reminds me of Nicky Pass. Drive cars and make comparisons, speculation is almost useless without actually driving the car to see if you like it
