Im in the market to purchase a radar and im looking for something cheap. What do yall think of the cobra radars that are under 100$ around 70-80. Its called the cobra xrs 9430. Anyone that has this give me some info on how it is. i also want to know if it detects radars, lasers, and speed cameras or not.


I also have 20% window tints and idk if radar detectors work with tints lemme know.

In Radar Detectors, you really do get what you pay for.

Spend some money, and look into Bel, Escort, Valentine One

 

V1 are the best IMO.

ive had a cobra.. dont exactly know the id number right now.. too lazy too check -__- ... and it works great! i got it on black friday for a bit over $100.. didnt fail me once.. at least not yet....

 

I have this radar and got it from pepboys for $100. Its mounted on my drivers side in the tinted strip at the top of the windshield, idk what tint that is but i also 15% tint on all other windows. It works well and has saved me from cops numerous times. The range is probably not the greatest, but i dont have anything to compare it to. also, there have been times when the laser has falsely gone off when i floored the car and scared the sh*t out of me (apparently due to a power surge?)

Overall, i'd say its a good value and works well for the money

Spend a little more money and get a ESCORT or V1. When you consider buying a radar detector you dont want to go cheap for no reason. Essentially its there to work and save you on that speeding ticket right?

I had a V1 and sold it because of all the false alarms and got a escort 9500i. I just got the 9500i upgraded to the 9500ix. IMHO the 9500ix is by far the best detector on the market today.
