It's not a real STi apparently. More like a styling package

Am I reading something wrong?

"Prices for the GT package in Manual will start at around ¥4,090,000 ( USD $41,500 / AUD $46,600 ) with the slushbox tacking on another ¥100,000 ( USD $1000 / AUD $1150 ). As with so many special models from Subaru, neither of these cars is designated for international release."

I've missed you's guys's Lots of ups and downs the past few months. I needed some time to just relax whenever I had the chance, so forums of any kind took a back seat.

Doesn't matter, the plan changed.

Then changed again.

And again.

Probably will change again at some point in the [near] future.

Possibly not the sort of update you were hoping for (yet).

Well.....

So yea, as I was saying, life in general has been crazy the past few months. I think I mentioned in here that I was angling for a supervisor role at work. Well, let me give some background info -

I was supporting a few data centers for a large financial institution, who I'll refer to as Client A, while I was with IBM here in VA. IBM lost the contract, so I was told I had three months to find something else either within IBM or outside, or I'd be laid off. I found out through my sources at client A who told me who the new provider would be, I'll refer to them as Employer B, so I interviewed with them and was hired in May (a few weeks after I lost my job with IBM). The contract officially started June 30th, and I was the lead for all new installs. The major problem with that is our team consisted of 4 technicians - one IMAC (installs, moves, adds and changes) and 3 break/fix (they do all warranty work basically). That meant I was the only one doing installs. For three separate data centers. An hour away from each other. Spanning four buildings. Approximately 300,000sq ft of white space (where all the equipment is). Around the clock.

I'm sure you could see what a logistical nightmare that is.

So that means that I was touching every single piece of equipment that went out onto all floors, by myself, with a deadline (which was a miracle in itself that some of them were even met). I was killing myself. For the first time in a long time I was stressed about work. I let it affect my personal life. I let it affect my work life. I wasn't happy because I'm my own worst critic - and I was really beginning to wear thin.

On September 3rd I had a meeting with one of the managers and a VP from Employer B. I raised concerns that I had regarding the work load and our lack of staffing, among other things. They told me flat out that they had no immediate plans to hire an IMAC technician, and if they even thought about doing so, it wouldn't be until January 2014 at the earliest.

This was not more than 10 minutes after the VP was bragging about about how much money IMAC work brings in per month (every minute of IMAC work is billable time), and how much Virginia (me) was responsible for - one month's worth of IMAC earnings from VA can pay for a team of 10 people. It was quite the slap in the face.

So I had an interview with another large financial institution on September 5 for a position that I knew nothing of. They asked me three questions. I answered them honestly, and I closed with "I'm confident I could do the job". Forty minutes later they called and offered me the position, which I absolutely took.

As soon as I got off the phone with my soon to be new employer, it felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face. Best of all, I really didn't give a fuck if none of the administrative work got done between that time and my last day (September 20th). I still took care of the physical work, as that affected Client A directly, and I did not want to burn any bridges with them. Employer B on the other hand, I couldn't have cared less.

So I put in my two weeks notice on the morning of the 9th. That week alone I received calls from four different people within Employer B offering more money/managerial positions/their first born - two of which had absolutely no right to even discuss money with me as they weren't even managers.

The following week I very nearly told the manager that I was in a meeting with at the beginning of September to go fuck himself, but I won't get into that now.

So to make a long story even longer, I walked away from that employer feeling great, and I've been with Employer C for over a month now and love every minute of it. I'm able to do something now that I haven't been able to do in years - leave work while the sun is still up.

I won't deny that I did at least entertain a few of Employer B's offers, but in the end, I think this was the best decision for me physically and mentally. My coworkers are great, and the bosses there are awesome (thus far).

Oh, and since this is a car forum, I guess I'll post something car related.

The CL is sold

Oh, and if any of you know someone with an FR-S or BRZ, let them know that I'm parting out. My mod list is floating around here but there's plenty to sell.

EDIT - Jesus, sorry for wall of text. I got carried away.

congrats to a better lifestyle

Curious as well as to why you're parting out? Any more chirping issues?
