This is why when I'm going to spring for an e-car, it'll be from probably the Germans or even Japanese. I sat in the Audi e-tron and frankly, loved it. Very cool. Kills the Tesla interior...obviously, performance may not be as nice but hey...whatever. If you are considering e-car, there's Jaguar's I-Pace?
Some of the reviews I've seen of the Tesla talk about the quality issues, and one line stuck out amongst them all - it went something along the lines of "don't let their large market share fool you, this is a car that does not have the quality control of a mass production manufacturer".
The Audi doesn't do anything for me. It's too bloated looking. But, the Mach-E (I refuse to call it a Mustang) looks interesting.
Compared to the others though, Tesla typically has the fastest cars with the longest range. But I know getting into any electric car within the next year is just getting in on an early technology. The batteries take a while to charge. They have issues in colder temps. The range isn't there. And charging stations aren't as plentiful as some would hope.
So it's settled. E63S Estate.

Kind of funny how Tesla has turned out to be just like the other domestic manufacturers. Generally unbeatable performance for the price, but questionable interior quality, and the lack of that special je ne sais quoi.
From talking to people who have worked at Tesla, I have heard the same thing echoed about quality control.

You can tell C&D has been reviewing so many crossovers and SUVs when the reference the cupholder count in a supercar
that's the best description of a car I've ever read

I've got three active search alerts going (cars, autotrader and truecar), plus a few people keeping an eye out for me. Right now, I'm mainly looking to see if I spot trends. I'll be taking the parts off the R towards the end of summer and I'm aiming for Fall/early winter to get into the E, when more 2018/2019 lease returns start popping up. I'd prefer to get a CPO car from MB, but I'm not opposed to getting one through Carmax either (with extended warranty).
The female is already on board - at least that's what I'm telling myself whenever she says "whatever makes you happy". Might be a trap, but at least I'll get my wagon

A fast, practical (4 seats) car with a 4cyl. Seems like a winner.
