You can but most everything is closed, so it's not worth it.

Got here late, Chief. But my thoughts exactly. You could pick it up at the plant in Zuffenhausen, and they should do a 30 day registration and temp plates so you can have a vacation and drive it like it was meant.
If that's a thought, you slow roll it on the A81, but head south. About 20 miles from the A8/A81 interchange no traffic and the golden "no limit" sign.

that was my ultimate goal originally but Germany is not in the travel budget right now for some reason . . . .

lol I'm about at the top of my comfort level on this purchase so it's really kind of easy to keep my wants reined in and under control. Would I like full leather? Yes but then I'm starting to get away (I feel) from a driver's car. If I wanted to go full-on nuts about stripping a car I'd get a Carrera T but I do prefer door pulls that aren't straps.

I 100% would get the red belts to match the calipers. I think it's a neat little feature you don't see in many other cars.

Although I don't really like red calipers, so I'd go with silver or yellow seatbelts with matching stitching in the cabin and silver, yellow or black calipers.
But we're configuring cars we can't buy with money we don't have, so get what makes you happy lol

Red calipers are standard, it costs $900 to get painted black which I refuse to do. You "get" yellow calipers when you plunk down an additional $9,000 for composite brakes, otherwise yellow is unavailable, ditto silver. It is an additional $540 for colored seat belts which only add to my rationale for not wanting them. Like my SA said as we went over my build, don't listen to your wife, friends or people on the internet.

Congrats! I, too, have the same feeling after making large purchases, wtf did I do HA
P car is the way to go. I really wanted an older one instead of the Audi, simply because I knew I could get the majority of my money back but wife overruled

I like the revised build. The silver decal looks a lot better, to me.

I've gone back and forth a number of times, still unsure. The silver looks more understated and subtle while black looks more traditional. I have a long time to change my mind repeatedly before it arrives. I don't even have a confirmed build date yet.

Well are you going to understated or a bit more "look at me"? Given the color choice, I'm guessing you're going for understated.
IMO, the silver looks better. I like understated a lot.
Edit: Changed my mind, go with the black. If it's going to be there, at least you and everyone else should be able to see it.

I like the black better myself. How about the red on the sports chrono, added it on my last build.

If I were going colored gauges, I've always preferred Carrera White. But the red does flow with the calipers on the outside.
But, given it's just a ring now & not the full gauge, I'd stick with black.
I still vote silver on the door applique.

If you're not going to do red seat belts then I'd nix the red watch clock thing too. I would get the tach in white though.

I checked on the configurator. Used to be the whole tach or chrono was in the selected color.
Now, it's just the outer ring & doesn't look as good, IMO.

After a shit-ton of research, I've determined Rear Axle Steer is not a necessity I'll likely get to experience on a regular basis. Most of the comments are centered around how well you can pull a U-turn without doing a 3 point turn. The puddle light projectors are lame-o, when you open the door, the Porsche logo lights the ground beneath the door. I added graphite blue leather w/ chalk stitching.

So, Porsche underestimates its 992 CS HP? Awesome.According to Motor Trend, when you do the math backward, starting with the dyno numbers and compensating for the 15-percent drivetrain loss, the Carrera S makes 487 hp (363 kW) and 478 lb-ft (648 Nm) of torque at the crank. That's 44 hp (32 kW) and 88 lb-ft (119 Nm) more than Porsche's official numbers.
Motor Trend says the car they have is an early build, writing, "It's hard to say if its dyno performance is representative of the standard-production 992 Carrera S." If the publication's 911 is representative of the car consumers will be able to purchase, then they will receive a lot more power than advertised. That sounds like a win to us.

It's German - I'm not surprised that the advertised numbers are underestimated.

If you're going with the decal then I'd say go with option 1 since it's more of a retro-ish look.
