You should probably just do it now and get it over with. I find it easier to just rip the bandage off quickly

Wouldn't an RLX be cheaper?
All kidding aside, that looks quite nice, though red wouldn't be my first choice.

Would it be an addition, or a replacement?

In 2004 when I paid $40K for my 350Z convertible I was driving it home from Scranton, PA. I remember looking around the interior as I buzzed down the freeway thinking "WTF did I just do??" I got over it.

Do it....

Wonder how their clutch is on the newer car now... last time i drove the GT3, thought the clutch was the dead pedal.. it was too stiff for my left leg.

So I was reading C&D and two of the cars I'm considering purchasing (both, not either) are amongst the quickest cars the mag has tested in 2020 except it would be the Carrera S RWD for me

No, it'll be a year or two before I drop the cash. I want a 7 speed manual used Carrera S. They just started selling them again this year for the 992.2 and I need to wait until they get down to a tolerable price point.

While the B7 doesn't do a lot for me, it does look striking in that green.
But, with what MB did to the W223 S-Class, I could be convinced to look elsewhere. W222 was about perfect for me, loved both that my grandmother had (2014 & 15).

If the only way you can do this is with using your 401(k) funds, be wise. Don't do that! Take a look at whatever you have in your 401(k) and see what its value will be from compounding until retirement. You will be glad to keep that money for later.

(It still is a great looking car!)

Chief: What part of WNY do you inhabit? I grew up in Rochester. That area would be a bit rough for a Porsche. Unless you have a very nice garage and can keep the rust gremlins away.

B7 is a great way to burn cash quickly with no way to get it back unless you can get a killer deal and still be at less than 1K/month in depreciation Carrera S will retain way more value over any amount of time vs B7.

My 401 is NOT my source of retirement funds. When I was racking up large legal fees, I bought annuities that begin to mature soon. I also bought an annuity that pays me monthly now and spits out a big chunk in 4 years (>$.5M) and keeps on paying (at a compounding monthly rate) until I die. Thanks for the concern but it's not a worry for me.

Hamburg, NY; 10 miles south of Buffalo. This would obviously be put away in the winter. Secondly, it could become my FL car for when we buy a place in Sarasota.

I'm drooling over the same car. I wanted to keep my budget at ~50-60 for a 2011-2012 Carrera S, but the newer ones are so fucking sexy. Struggling to justify 90k on a car

^^^ It's not much of a leap for me having spent $80K for my 650 GC, new and loaded. I got it for 20% below sticker bc it was sitting on showroom floor a while after a dude ordered it and didn't take delivery.

Y'know it's funny. It's not a particularly pretty town but the people here make it a great place to live. There is a lot of things to do as in any modern city (2nd largest in NY) and our culinary offerings in restaurants, pubs, taverns and stands are excellent.

Hamburg. Know the area. A bit north I have family in Tonawanda, and had classmates go to school down in Fredonia. And Florida is starting to look quite attractive, with no income tax and mild weather year round.

On the Alpina, it's a pretty exclusive club. Always loved them. I do like the idea of a huge luxury sedan that will blow the doors off most sports cars.

Yeah, annual car trips to Saratoga Springs for the Travers and Montreal for the GP would be a blast in either of those cars for sure. My brother played goaltender for Fredonia in their national championship years.

Just curious: have you cross-shopped the 911 against the C8 'vette? If so what did you think about the differences?

The difference is that the Porsche has a better interior and probably handles better?

I could be wrong about the latter.

<---- Pick a Porsche 10 out of 10 times.

^This. At least with the Porsche, you won't get VW interior parts (unlike the Vette, which you may get minivan interior pieces).

Like, let me be quite clear before a pile-on...I LIKE the Corvette...immensely. But, if I had to pick, I'd take the Porsche 911 over it. Doesn't mean I think the Corvette sucks.

With the issues being reported with the C8s I'd steer clear of them..maybe even until the next model year.

But back to 911 all the way.

The food was awesome, it's 100% the reason I want to go back. That said, I have a 0% desire to return to Niagara falls.

You definitely get VW parts on a Porsche lol, they'd be stupid to not do that. The headlight switch on a 991 is the same as the one in my Golf, ditto for the window switches.

Why in God's name would I cross-shop a 911 with a Vette when I grew up lusting after the 911's my uncle had including a Turbo we used to blast around in? Besides, I'm no Vette fan, never really have been.
