Some reconfiguring and gotta send the build in to the dealer before it gets even more expensive. Ditched the decal, added retractable mirrors, puddle illumination and PDCC.
better get it in sooner rather than later... there have been a few guys that submitted deposits in april/may and still haven't received a build allocation.

I'm hoping that doesn't happen but not hell-bent on getting the car this year which I'm sure is reality in Porsche world. I've got some great connections, one guy races a Porsche Cup car, has 4 road Porsches and is great friends with Rick Hendrick (my brother is too).
Funny I find this thread. I drove a 997.2 GT3-RennSport via Xtreme Xperiences over the weekend, along with a Huracan 610-4 and a 488 GTB. I am now a Porschephile, the experience was that magical on the track. Instead of a NC1 NSX, I'm going to look for a 911. The Kool-Aid tastes and feels so, so good. I'll have to post my own thread about the XX experience, which was quite good.
GT3RS is more than I want to spend, but if I can get a similar-feeling Porsche for less, preferably a 997.1 or .2, I'd be happy. I'd aim for a GT3 (not RS), but realistically would end up in a C4S.
Good luck in your pursuit, I spent a LOT of time looking at multiple sites trying to find the perfect 911 whether it was a GTS, CS, or C4S and as I posted, used vehicles were no cheaper than new. I found a 2020 CS yesterday with a rare manual tranny for $5K more than a new one I priced out. Granted it had two packages and some bling I'd never order but nonetheless, I'd rather go new if I'm that close in price plus I'm definitely set on picking mine up in Atlanta at the Porsche Experience Center. Maybe if you go new, we can order and hit that up together!
Have been on Rennlist blog for a bit and am getting some good tips on purchasing there. One tip saved me $3170 on PDCC saying it's unnecessary on this model.
From what I'm learning, there's a 12-18 month wait on a car, high demand and all that. Several have said PDCC is overkill on the 911 with PASM as it corners flat and adds very little in way of comfort.
Just for you F-C! I met with Sales Advisor ("Russ") who went over my build with me and we tuned it up a little including the Porsche side decal. I put my deposit down and am just waiting for a build allocation but he said I should have it by next Spring at the latest which is fine with me. I changed my order to include Porsche colored crests on the wheels, the decal and Porsche crests on the headrests. Here's the build code: http://www.porsche-code.com/PNKSGI48
Some lucky SOB is getting 1 of 4 Turbo S Cabriolets delivered in NY. Russ pulled the cover back in the purpose-built "Presentation Room." GT Silver Metallic with red top and about 15K in aero upgrades.
thanks a lot guys, I had a blast at the dealership. It's a brand new building that had very little in it except some big video screens, artwork, computers and some work spaces with a consult room that was really cool. It had all the exterior colors, interior colors/fabrics, wood, CF, aluminum, whatever, it was insane.

congrats Chief, we need more in the p-car brotherhood... from what i read with PDCC, you can fit a set of coilover for less and get better handling (i.e. Ohlins, Bilsteins, KWs)
@neuronbob - the GT3-RS is an amazing track beast but is stupid money right now... if you can't swing the RS money, GT2/3 are great track purpose cars... i wouldn't go down as low as a C4S though, at least a turbo...
The carrera classic wheels are awesome, my favorites outside of the turbo's. Also I LOVE the rear axle steering -- u-turns are a breeze.
If there's one thing I wish I would have gotten, its the power folding mirrors, but my garage has kids going back and forth, which may not be a problem for you.

Don't want to spend GT3RS money. 997.1 GT3 is in the $110s around here. Looking a lot lately, Chief is right, used is as much as new. Likely to wait until the market cools down some, maybe winter or early spring.
As I started reading more and more about S/GTS/GT3 cars I realized I didn't need anything as track-focused with any model beginning with "G." This car will be used for trips to the Glen, Montreal for the Canadian GP and Saratoga Springs for the Travers (leave tomorrow!) so it had to be comfortable enough for wifey not to complain as I want her to enjoy it too. I did want a build that focused more on performance than bling so that's the direction I obviously went and yes bkknight, U-turns will be a breeze! rear axle steering demo
I hope I don't feel as guilty about this acquisition when it's sitting in front of me as I do now and all I've parted with is a $1000 deposit thus far.

You will. But then you'll drive it and that will go away.
I remember driving away from the Nissan dealer on Good Friday, 2004 in my new 350Z 'vert. I was looking around the interior and said aloud "WTF did I just do?" That went away after about 30 minutes. You're of course right ttribe, I'll get over it and as I said to my wife, if financial catastrophe hits us, we could sell the 911 for not much less than purchase price, maybe none at all.

Case in point...
bought the CTS-V Wagon for $37500...did burnouts and got some respect at the Union Yard I work at for 2 years finally...
Sold it for $41500...
Literally someone's dream car and I drove it for free and then some.
Meanwhile someone is buying a econo car taking a bath on depreciation.
911 is always a win...hands down.
And what's more fun than a savings account with an extra $100 grand in it earning you .004% interest per year (assuming you have enough saved for an emergency)?
A 911, that's what.
Agreed rockstar, I told my wife basically the same thing and said if I get a serious case of the yips and decide to sell it after day 1 (never gonna happen) I could make 15-20K on it in this market. I am buying this car as my very last high end car of my life unless I win the lottery and well, you know Bugatti, Ferraris become reality.
