The 93-96 Probe GT was a fun car and looks good, but I don't think it looks current. It's kind of like the 92 Celica, which was my first car. Also a fun car and I still think they look pretty good, but not current.
Interestingly, all this talk of the Supra made me look on cars.com to see how much they go for now. Wow are they pricey! I remember that back in 1997 when I was buying my 92 Celica. I first was looking at a 93 Supra with 70,000 miles for $17k. I really wanted to get it, but decided I couldn't afford it and paid $10k for the Celica instead. Looks like those 93 Supras are selling for more that what I was about to pay for one 14 years ago. Amazing!

I test drove a 2G Ford Probe 5MT and that was one very fun car, one of the best handling FWD ever made. I agree it does not look modern but it's aged pretty well.
A friend of mine sold his Mk2 Supra last year and there is a small cult-like following of the Mk2 and Mk4. He got $2.5K for his 84 5MT.

... and the headlights from a 00-06 Celica make a 91 NSX looks pretty good

In my opinion, it's almost impossible for a 15year-old car to look current because of the futuristic design embodied by today's vehicles. However, there is certainly a list of older vehicles whose design seems to be classically timeless. The 2G Acura Legend coupe would be near the top of that list, joined by the BMW E39, 5G Honda Prelude, 3G Mazda RX7 (hardly seen on the road anymore, unfortunately), and the Mercedes Benz S-Class of the mid-90s. Those are the few that quickly come to mind.

Semantics, but I think looking current and looking timeless are two different things. A W140 looks old as hell, but I still really like them. None of the 15+ year old cars had especially fancy-looking projector HIDs, or pronounced body and hood lines.
Case in point, the 5-series posted earlier on this same page:
The E39 is still my favorite 5-series to date, but it's still far from contemporary-looking, even post-MMC and even with the Sport package.

My first thought was the Prelude, a few generations, but for an old design that I think would fit into a modern showroom, I think the BMW 507 fits

Abd while ir was also very limited production (just enough for the Le Mans entry of the race car), the Ford GT40.

Oh DSM's weren't that bad. I had a Spyder GST and it was great except for a leaky roof and hot start issue...I think most people forget that the timing belt on those things need changing every 60K and when it breaks, the car's apparently at fault...Very nice car but temperamental if not maintained well...
