BMW = break my windows

http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoram...163648995.html

Wow, it looks like this guy had enough. I can remember when I felt like doing this to my Audi s4 and GTI that I previously owned before getting my TL. I had more problems with those cars in a few months than I have had with the TL in 7 years of ownership.

Interesting read. I propose that this gets moved to Car Talk.

"He claims that he has had to deal with persistent problems including vibrations, rattling and shifting jolts during gear changes."

I hope their were more problems than that but he and BMW are all over the news now.

Break my windows?

Funny, I haven't heard that analogy since 1992.

I felt the same way when my TL was bucking it's way to its 3rd tranny. Of course I decided to sell it instead of hit it with a hammer. But I understand the frustration of a car you love not doing what it's supposed to do even after multiple attempts to repair.

Did the same with my CL-S....horrible quality and no solution from Honda/Acura....got rid of it.

You stay away from euro cars because you have poor critical reasoning skills? That's strange.

It amazes me when I read statements like the one you quoted. I understand that Euro cars have a history of not being as reliable as Asian cars and it's one of the oldest automotive debates... but to make such a blanket statement is mind boggling. Since 2005 we have owned 3 Euro cars (A4, A6, E350) and every single one of them have been as good as any Acura I have owned. And in some cases like my TL with a glass tranny... better.

Sad video... I miss my BMW 120d that I had in Germany... did everything I could to find someone to convert it so I could bring it to the states... didn't happen unfortunately.
Never had a problem with it, flew on the autobahn, got over 40mpg overall, and was a 6 speed 3 door. I miss that car!
Seriously though, he could have sold it to someone who would have loved having it issues or not, and then bought himself another. Oh well - his money, do what you want. Would have loved to see him tear into the engine, they would have fined the crap out of him if he caused any oil to leak out!

Euro cars are amazing...if you actually follow through with the maintenance. I know, some of the shit I get away with in my small 4 banger Acura, like skipping over oil changes etc, would have a greater effect on a BMW or Audi.

you;ll be surprised how many people don't care for their cars...For them, its better to go with a Japanese or Korean car
