Do it! Yes!

The gas is SO CHEAP. haha

You know the best thing about my car? It gets really good gas mileage even doing track days. hahahaha

That's why it's better to be fast in the corners!

^ Nice! Not bad at all! haha

Some of my friends with cars like modded M3/EVO/S2K usually have to bring extra gas in those big gas tanks to the track because they go through them like crazy. haha

At SOW, I usually use up to 3/5 for 4 sessions and 1 tank for Buttonwillow. It's probably the most gas efficient car at the track LOL

Yup. Thats why being so close to Jack helps me. He brings the extra gas in his tow truck, and I don't have to bring anything, when we do the track days

Nice, nice. haha

Do you come out to Buttonwillow or SOW at all?

I'm trying to get to Buttonwillow on Feb. 28th! My work schedule in Feb is crazy as hell but that last weekend is actually free for me so I'll go for sure.

Yes.

We do the Jack Fried track days. You should come out with us. It is weekdays.

Also run the Lotus Challenge series, which is mostly participated out of Spring Mountain for us.

Have you been to Pahrump? Great track.

Don't know what they are at all. haha

I just started tracking my car from last year. Last weekend was my 6th or 7th time. haha

I usually can't go on weekdays, and it has to be within 2 hour driving range. If not, I would probably die driving back home. haha

When we go to Spring Mountain (outside of Vegas), we track up Friday night , stay the weekend (You can stay on track or motel) and drive back Sunday night.

I used to run Spec Miata years ago. I switched to Lotus Challenge. Great series, and great group of guys.

Yeah, that's what I want to do but wife will kill that idea before it gets even developed for me. haha

Do you know the Lotus guys in LA by any chance? I have several friends who have heavily modified their Lotus and track them regularly.

After Saturday's track event, I noticed that I needed a new set of tires.

I was trying to purchase a new set of Hankook RS3s in my size 245/40/17. But then realized that these were backordered until May everywhere. I was super depressed since I was in love with these tires.

Tried to get a set through local vendors, nobody had them since they are literally the best trackable street tires. Everything failed and I was just looking to purchase other tires for this time...

BUT This 86CUP organizer fb messaged me saying that he has a brand new RS3 set in his garage! He was going to use it but he's going to try something else for the next set, so he quoted me $600 pick up which super fair price.

I'll be putting those on this weekend!

Yeah, I was way too excited to be out there again. I think it was my 2nd session.

Posted that in 86CUP page and got so much great advice on what to do in that situation. Love it. haha

Thank you!

Found a local friend who has RS*R Sport i Moto Spec coilovers. He's willing to let it go for $1K even. It's almost $2K brand new with tax. Has around 4K miles. He never tracked his car.

Wifey gave me a go on this. So I'm going to try to pick this one up this weekend too. Will see.

haha for sure. Let's meet up after Feb. I'm like dead til then from working!

Can't wait to put on the brand new RS3 tires and a set of coilovers. After getting all done, I'll be off to WestEnd for alignment and corner balance. I will be able to add in quite a bit of camber on the front. All these will enable me to corner at faster pace in a much more stable fashion.

Awesome! Your car will be transformed! I am thinking of trying out some Star Specs, as my A048 is down to wear bars again (I am getting 4500 miles per set)

Dang. You must track your car a lot for only getting 4500 miles per set. haha

I had my used RS3s for almost 7K miles I think haha It surprisingly lasted a lot considering the fact that I've done a lot of canyon runs and 4-5 track days.

Not tracking I got 8500 miles on rear, 9500 on front

tracking, I have been getting 4500 rear, 6000 front. Though less than mileage, I have been heat cycling them out. I tried a set of 888, but went back to A048 again.

New RS3s. This is probably the last brand new set in this size in the US right now. haha Backordered everywhere until the end of April I believe. I got super lucky by finding this set from a local 86CUP member who is changing to something else.

Just to add, I've gotten around 8K miles on those old used RS3s that came with the RPF1s back in February when I bought them together from my friend. Those tires have had about 6 track days and countless hard canyon miles. I DD my car as well so. Actually super satisfied with how long they lasted. Its performance was obviously gotten worse in the later part of the life since they had been heat-cycled already too many times from the track days.

100% recommended by me to anyone in the area where there's no rain or snow.

I'll be getting the product on Friday or Monday.

Yes! I'm going to get help from my friend who have done this many times before!

New tires. New coilovers.

Will get the alignment/corner balance done after.

Make sure to check the forums for any stolen wheels

Totally jealous about the RS3s, couldn't justify the cost when it came down to replacing just the rears.
