So this looks to be pretty much my final revision of my gear. This is organized and built resulting from my 365 project where taking a photo everyday meant I needed to make huge adjustments to make photography not so dreadful and cumbersome.

I have decided to upgrade from the X-T1 to the X-T2. The X-H1 just seems too expensive just for IBIS. I gotta say though, the upgrade to the X-T2 is really pleasant. Lots of great features and improvements over the X-T1.

For lens I decided on the trifecta of landscape (16mm), portrait (56mm), and street (27mm). The 27mm is the recent addition to my gear only because I needed mid range and also something compact enough to carry around not looking like a professional.

I also tailored my backpack to my camera gear. Two pouches for the prime lenses, a camera pouch, and ample room for tripod and filters. The lens pouches are molle attached at the top for easier access when lens swapping.

Fuji X-T2
Fuji 16mm 1.4
Fuji 56mm 1.2
Fuji 27mm 2.8
Mefoto Roadtrip Air Tripod
Formatt Hitech Firecrest ND and Polarizer Filters
JB Camera Designs Wood Grip Pro
DSPTCH Wrist Strap
Thinktank Mirrorless Mover 10 Camera Pouch
Oryx Gear Lens Pouch
Goruck GR1 Backpack

Digital Body 1: X-T2
Digital Body 2: X-T20

I know, they're kind of the same camera, the X-T20 is usually always set to JPG, Acros film simulation, electronic shutter mode and has the 23mm F2 mounted to it. I use this set up primarily for street photography. Love the portability of this set up.

Digital lenses:
23mm F2
23mm F1.4
50mm F2
10-24mm F4
55-200mm F3.5

Film Body 1: Leica M6
Film Body 2: Voigtlander Bessa T
Both of these bodies use the Leica M mount, so all (3, lol) my film lenses are interchangeable between these bodies.

Film lenses:
Voigtlander Nokton 35mm F1.4 MC
1950's Leica Summarit 50MM F1.5 (The bokeh is NUTS on this lens
1650's Leica Elmar 50mm 2.8 (The collapsible lens)

If you had a lens that old, It'd probably worth a fortune since if I recall cameras didn't exist until the 1800s

I've always wanted a nice high end tripod but could never justify the price, today.... I scored a Gitzo G1325 Carbon Fiber tripod through Facebook Marketplace for $289 CAD (or about $212 USD)! It became an even better deal when I met up with the seller and he said: "Oh, I forgot to mention in the ad, it comes with the center column"
A quick check in eBay, that center column alone is going for over $200 USD and it's used! It's an older model but it's in excellent condition. I guess it's a late Christmas gift for myself

I have been on the hunt for a medium format film camera for a while. I was looking for 6X7 originally. My local film camera shop had one of these, and the price was right, so I had to. Can't wait to take panorama landscape shots with it that I can print big. My M6 is on the left for size comparison.

Ohhhh, jealous. Would love to have one of those. I keep saying I'm going to bust out my Mamiya again I dont. I still have a role I just finished from my Nikon F2 I need to develop and push a stop.

I picked up the Peak Design Everyday Backpack V1 20L when it was on sale at the end of March/beginning of April.

I'm actually liking it more than i thought I would. Using it as my daily work backpack. Has enough room to fit my 40L Hydro Flask, packed lunch, a6300 + Sigma 30mm attached and the sigma 16mm. Plenty of room for other small misc stuff too.

Funny enough I used to hate on Peak Design so much.

You managed to fit 40L flask in a 20L bag???

bro...

I'd use mine as a daily too but my work lappy is too big for the bag.

Yea. I folded one side of those dividers up so the water bottle can stand up inside the bag.
Didn’t want to place the bottle sideways because there have been times where I didn’t tighten it enough and water leaked everywhere.

i don’t have a laptop and we use a desktop at work.

I do want to get a 13” laptop, so that should fit.

and ....... I meant 40oz

We picked up a second PD 20L backpack during the sale to use as a diaper bag so now I have 2 20L bags (one in charcoal and one in ash) and a tote bag that my wife uses for her work bag...or used to for that matter, not really needed right now.

how are you liking the PD CF tripod? I have the opportunity to buy ONE at half off (either CF or Aluminum) and I'm kinda iffy on it. We have a demo at work and I think for most uses, it's fine, but I sometimes do long exposures... at times 5 minutes long or longer and it's with a rather heavy lens... I don't know if the PD tripod will cut it for that. It's the last section of the 5 sections design that I'm a bit doubtful. I already have a couple of amazing CF tripods... one of them being rather big, even when folded, the other one is a lot smaller in size... but not quite as small as the PD

I have the CF version, and have done a few long exposures (1-2 min+ including correction for reciprocity) with super heavy film cameras (A Fuji GX617 and a Mamiya RB67) and had great results, no shake/issues when fully extended especially when I hang a weight from the bottom of the center column. Although heavy, none of my camera's are particularly front heavy, like you mention (heavy lenses), so I can't speak to how the tension in the head (that's what she said) would handle a very front heavy setup. the biggest benefit is the size for traveling. I put it in one of the waterbottle pockets of my bag and it's perfect. I was on the kickstarter and got mine the first week in December 2019.

it would be with a tilt-shift lens like this AND the very large ND filter + filter holder system

I love it, it works awesome for my purposes which is a hiking tripod. For something that folds down to the size of a water bottle and is easy to rapidly set up and tear down, it was a no brainer for me. It's very sturdy even at full height but I don't have any super heavy lenses. With my new 24-70 2.8 it's still rock solid at any angle and works super well. I've run long exposures with my 16-35 f4 and it's steady for the weight of that lens along with my A7mk2.

It's not going to be as sturdy or stable as bigger, heavier ones, but that should be fairly obvious as to why and would be the case with any tripod on the market. If you're doing If you're not hiking with it, save the cash and get the aluminum one.

I don't think that lens setup would cause any problems both in terms of leg shake/stability, as well as grip of the ballhead. You might run into problems with some of the super long telephoto large aperture zooms, but I think the PD could handle this setup without an issue.

RX100 VII

Just rang this up!! Going to Germany next month for 2 Depeche Mode shows, and I have seriously missed my RX100's at the past concerts I have been to this year I have taken some of the best concert pix I have ever with the past RX100's. I broke the V I had when I dropped it onto concrete at Six Flags some years ago - and never replaced it. The RX10 IV did me well for a long time, but the zoom on that broke recently - it no longer zooms I definitely put it through its paces though. Also, I tried taking it into the last Depeche Mode show in Chicago, and was declined. But that camera was simply stellar for outdoor shows.

SO I was just like damnit, I simply must fill this void. The zoom on the iphone14 is utter SHITE still, so yeah that's just not gonna cut it. Really looking forward to the 24-200 on this little beast!

for a camera that was released 4 years ago, the RX100 VII is at times, hard to find... I really can't imagine what they could possibly do to improve on it if they were to bring out a VIII, maybe that's why it hasn't happened. The problem is, Sony knows that with the popularity of TicTok and IG/YouTube Shorts, people are demanding more features on the video side of things, probably why they've brought out the ZV-1 and recently ZV-1 MkII instead of a RX100 VIII

Some changes since 4 years ago. Mainly unloaded all of my Canon legacy stuff in 2020. I think I still have the 50mm macro and 40mm but I’m not sure where it is. Kept the old 1D, because it’s a 1D.

I was getting by with just the Sony a6300 and the viltrox lenses but the itch got to me when looking back at my pics. I really liked what I got out of a full frame camera and particularly from the 6D Mark II.
Was deciding between the Sony A7IV, Canon R6mkII and Fuji X-H2S.
The R6mkII ended up winning because full frame, newer, supposedly better video specs compared to the Sony ( ) and bigger Black Friday discount and included goodies.
Paired it with the 14-35mm f4.

also finally unboxed my Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer that came bundled with the 6D Mark II I bought brand new back in 2017
sat unopened since then. Ink is still good and I have a box of Canon 13x19” semi-gloss paper. Man this thing is huge!
