I miss my 03 CL-S :(
^Agreed on all points
On a different note, did you guys know the LR3 catalog is a SQLite database? You can totally open that baby up and query it like any other SQL db. The table structure is a little cryptic but you can export it to MySQL and have more flexibility. Here's a quick look into all the photos I took in 2011, putting aperture vs focal length as a bubble graph with bubble size indicating number of photos at that f-stop and focal length combo:
In other words, I should be looking at buying a prime in the 24-35mm range soon - preferably one that is <= f/4.

LR3 runs on cryptic SQL??? well that explains a lot, lol. (i.e. it's slowness).
that graph is so frickin' cool, wish I could do that kinda sh*t. if this is something you figured out yourself I hope you are doing the 'right' thing with it, if you want to go that route I mean, I mean this is the basis for "viral" type of internet becomings, you can hit it big with that and if you have your blog setup right with ads and sh*t and post it on there you can make some money off this.

Agreed. Your post is Greek to me, but I'd value a similar interpretation of my own shooting

all work and no play
thinking about heading to the inlaws house in the mountains next weekend. The local scenic railroad does a single run every january called "steam in the snow" They run out, and stop in several spots and allow you to disembark and they then make a run by you for photo ops
this is the train
this is the train

btw. liking this eye-fi card.
i set it so my RAW files on my 1D goto my CF card and a small jpeg gets sent to my iPhone via direct mode.
so much nicer to preview images on my iPhones 3.5 inch screen than the 1DIIn's 2.5" screen.
only thing that sucks is that if my iPhone auto connects to my home network it wont receive any images from the eye-fi card until i disconnect.

it was kind of a pain to set up as my iPhone wasnt able to pick up the eyefi wifi network, but when i opened the eye-fi app it had a option to set up the network for me.

it didn't occur to me but, the nightclub I went to tonight is the place where this happened:
http://deadspin.com/5847345/one-arma...d-epic-bar-tab
some of you may remember that from earlier this year. it was my first time there. and I actually got a photo of the server who waited on that 100k tab. I had met her before a few years ago.
here is a random shot from tonight I felt like dressing up a bit:

To those in the DC Area that depended on Penn Camera for rentals or prints, they're going down under
http://www.washingtonpost.com/busine...PbP_story.html
They posted a message on their website: http://www.penncameras.com/message.html
I know people that work there, fellow photogs I met in photo classes. It's sad. I'll have to stop by their E St. shop soon to check out what type of deals they have for clearance - I suspect they won't be great.

Good riddance, another store that was never any use to me is gone. Whenever I tried to spend money there, item was out of stock, in another store or the person behind the counter didn't know what I was asking for.
Another bullshit item to this, they sold giftcards in Nov and Dec knowing they were going to close up shop. And those who didn't use them will now have to fight to get their money back. Those who bought them with credit cards might be the only one's to get their money back.
Long live Ace Photo and PhotoCraft !!!

I'm glad you like Ace Photo. I am most often talked down to like a 4 year old in pigtails when I go in there. I did finally have a good experience last time when returning a flash, but I do my best not to patronize them because they're so..patronizing. :/

^^ woops.... posted those photos in wrong thread. anyways.
i had a curious encounter with a girl at the Tesla store today, she had been shopping to get a DSLR and so she asked me some questions, asked what camera I was using. She was kind of surprised when I told her, because she had read online that the 5D requires a tripod for use. I smiled and told her the internet is a crazy place and to check any information on multiple sources and not take user reviews too seriously, especially when they make proclamations such as that.

to be clear, it's nothing against her, she told me she got into photography in the past year and was looking to upgrade her Rebel Ti. So she had been researching online. It's more an indication of the absolute garbage that is out there regarding cameras, and a reminder to not take things too seriously without trying it and using it yourself.
