I've don't think it's really been a problem, but with the Canon bodies I had to jack it up more than I currently do.

My LR default processing settings set the sharpening slider to 25 automatically. I rarely touch it after that... Maybe I should do that more often

Thanks for the feedback on the chart... Unfortunately flickr deletes the views data after about a month, so you can't pull stats for months prior to the previous month using the API... you have to run the stats every month and save them off yourself.

so umm.. I shot for about 20 mins with a gripped D700 tonight... I thought it felt horrible! felt more like a camcorder than a camera. I was pretty surprised, I used to love the feel of the gripped D300 I played with. But I think I've been spoiled by the 7d. The displays on the d700 suck! (the meters and numbers are so cramped and narrow). ok, so, bye.

serious though, the D300 has a contoured grip, that felt solid and nice in the hand. did they change that on the D700? the grip felt flat and the camera felt 'boxy'. it felt horrible I was pretty amazed.

and, older Canons yes they don't feel good. they have come a LONG way with the 7D.

You can thank Nikon for the 7D.

The weight is sign of reliability.

If it does not work, you can hit them with it.

So, my shelf in my closet collapsed yesterday night while I was out. Didn't notice until this morning when I got dressed for work.

My D300 was on that shelf. It fell 5 feet, landed on the SB-600 that was attached, and broke it into two pieces.

My heart is broken.

It broke right near the hotshoe like above it, where it becomes the larger part of the flash.

I don't know what to do. It turns on, maybe I'll super glue it back..

I logged into my flickr account for the first time in a few days, and see that someone added one of my pictures as one of their favorites. I was a little about that, being the first time.

Out of curiosity I went to his page and looked to see what else he had as favorites. As soon as I clicked it my fiancee came in and sat down talking to me. I look back and ..........I'm looking at a screen full of thumbnails mostly of half naked men in awkward positions, with occasional normal pictures mixed in.

Do you guys own any monopod before? Any recommendation? I don't need a fancy one!

for me, eventually when i get a monopod, (right after i get tripod legs for my ball head )

im going with the 681B.

tonight I was watching the fireworks at the lake in my town, we got there just before it started so I was in the back standing. There was a woman sitting in front of me with a DSLR with the kit lens attempting to take pictures over and over and OVER, yet didnt know what she was doing, and was hand holding with the popup flash firing every time. Normally I could care less, but its dark and Im trying to watch the fireworks myself, and I kept being blinded by her flash. Quite annoying

by some weird chance, I ran into another friend with a gripped D700 today. And I tried it again, and again it felt like a camcorder. So it wasn't a fluke.
