Sounds like fun. I have thought about Zeiss or Volt, but my eyes are catching up to me, loosing my near vision.

Can anyone recommend me a decent but under budget priced tripod? Ballhead + Leg Combo..

I'm going to my manager's wedding in a few weeks and would like to pick one up to help her with the video.

Not at all sis, don't be silly.

I'll give you a ring if it comes to that though! The wedding is in the eastern shore, and in two weeks, so I'll think about it!

Coolio. You'll still need a plate that fits, of course, but I imagine you'll be buying one anyway for future use.

You can use a older set up of mine, it's one that I got from Ritz about five years ago.

No problem, it's a good tripod, it's only used like once or twice a year. I'll bring it to dinner and you can use as long as you need.

Interesting blog post:
I was to take a few shots and move on, but that’s not what happened, far from that. I was asked for “security reasons” why I was taking pictures. I told the officer that I just was getting pictures of the traffic stop for a collection, he asked for ID and in return I asked “am I being detained or am I free to leave” after dancing around the question, he finally stated that I was free to go. As he walked away another officer stated that I was being detained and that I needed to provide identification. She told me to put me camera away and stop recoding.

I had a similar encounter with the Metro Transit Police last year, but I was able to talk my way around it and it didn't escalate, unlike like this guy's encounter with the DC Metro Police.

What's so mess up about this, they have had this is the news and before the Police, DC Council board and Delegate Norton. The should know damn well to just leave photog's alone. If it's on public property, they just need to shut up.

Not a law, they are using "wiretapping" as the charge. They say that w/o P.O consent, it's against the law. If on duty police can't be photographed or video taped, Rodney King would have been killed.

hey I'm with you. Rodney King? that was like 20 yrs ago man. totally different time period. nobody had cameras or video cameras. not comparable, imo.

I said RK because it was so big, what about just recently with the cop killing the guy in the Seattle subway?

yeah but there was no issue with everyone having camera's back in RK time. so, not comparable to today.

I'm all against unnecessary police brutality, especially like the kind we have seen because of the proliferation of cameras. But, at the same time, I think I can see why they might try to outlaw that (and have done so in 3 states, and in the UK, to name a few).

so i went to the Huntington Library last saturday and took whole lot of pics within 3 hours. we had so much more stuff to see but suddenly.. my 8gb memory card got completely full.............. this never happened to me before.. i was so frustrated.. because in my eyes, there were so much things left to take..

i never understood why people had 3-4 8gb memory cards.. but now i know.
