Just got LR3, it does feel markedly faster. Mainly when switching views. Love that it has grain now. I wonder if I will be able to fit that in to my workflow somehow.. right now I do that after Ive exported out of LR..

Nice... I don't think you wanna know srika's stats

I coded up a quick java app to pull stats data for my acct using the API. It's pretty nice. I'll post a mid-year visualization at the end of the month.

I did see that, you can either allow people to request through Getty, or allow getty to look through and decide themselves if they want your stuff....if I read it properly

yeah... interesting. The usual "you'll get ripped off" sentiments abound on the flickr forums... True you only get 20%, but it's better than nothing.
I mean, it's flickr. It's mostly photos of cats for pete's sake.

I thought about T1i briefly but was kinda surprised to see that the NEX-5 compares with it well - in terms of the crop comparisons and such. It even does arguably better than the T1i, in certain examples.

I gotta go through them all in the morning, but I think that they are all going to be Even at F1.8, ISO1600 (on a 20D ) I still think I was getting too much blur.

At least I got some good pics of a four mast schooner afterwards. I got a good pattern shot 2 hours after submission for the contest ended too ....doh

I'm kicking myself in the ass for not taking my gear to my niece's grad party last night. I could have used the practice for low light and hotshoe flash.

I hear ya, Im pretty sure that Michael J Fox is more capable than me hand held in low light.

I need to get out and try more, but without IS it gets incredibly frustrating when you come home with almost nothing.

I'm thinking of getting one of those remote shutter release for my 40D.. Which one do you guys recommend? There are a lot of options in BH.. Any personal experience with any of them?

get the cheapest one possible, I think I paid about $15 for mine from the POTN store. Though, most of the time I will leave it in my bag and just use the 2 second timer. If I set up somewhere and Im going to be there for a bit taking multiple shots, I will pull it out. Most of the time though, it stays in the bag when I'm shooting 5-6 shots then moving on.

Rubin, I dont think you will have a problem at all without the grip. I honestly think that most people put them on to try and look like a pro. I have two spares, and will throw one in my pocket if Im going to be shooting for a while, but seldom need it. I think Ive had the same battery in my camera now for about 2 weeks, and the camera was on for the better part of 3 hours this past Saturday. I took about a dozen today, and theres still about 1/4 left

cool. I agree, it does make you seem more "serious". Although with my old cam, I really did come to love the grip for both of its main purposes. But I know I *can* do it without the vertical shutter, if I need to.

He is use to a grip from his club shooting. Just saying that after doing it for, what four years. It'll mess him up for a little while. Wouldn't want it to throw him off, when it means the most.
