I wouldn't use a big softbox - I think it said there is a 19" octo - yeah no that would be too much - I would use a smaller softbox option

I had my eye on the sigma 35 1.4 but I think its better if I invest in lighting instead. I think for $800 I can get a pretty good set. What do you guys think?

what I'm looking for is mainly two source of lighting for indoor shoots and fill lighting for outdoor shoots

No biggie, when it comes to gear imo, it's all relative to people's needs/budget and using what is available. I might pick up some gigs for real estate listings and sometimes HDRs just won't cut it

Im waiting for the 3 version of those yongnuo 560s to be available to buy. They just announced them 2 weeks ago.

Basically the same as the 2, but this has a radio built in. Cost is $86.

I think you can already get them directly from the yongnuo website.

I meant to ask, does it work with any trigger? Or must be Yongnuo trigger?

The trigger IIRC is $30. Thinking if building a 5 light setup for 500-600.

Not sure, didn't fully read up on it.

For me since I don't have any triggers it makes sense. Plus I don't have to deal with mounting a trigger too.

Actually the article mentions 3rd party triggers with an AF assist beam would work. So maybe?

someone is offering to buy my Sigma 85mm f1.4, I'm kinda tempted because I don't use it very much, especially after picking up the Zeiss 135mm f1.8 But at the same time, the 85mm f1.4 is such a must for portraits. For me, the 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.4 and 135mm f1.8 is the holy trinity of portrait lenses. Decisions, Decisions

(he's also offering me about $100 less than what I think it's worth. I told him what I would like, if suppose, I was to sell it, and he said he'd think about it)

Are you on FF cameras or crop? That 85 seems like a great lens. Would you have sellers remorse?

I wouldn't do it unless its an absolute must. Ive also have really debated on getting a 85mm as well.

I'm both. But yeah this lens really shines with a FF body

Yeah, I'll probably turn down his offer. I took it out yesterday for once to see if I'd miss it, if.. suppose I sold it, it rained so I only got one shot. I rarely shoot wide open but I did it here just because I wanted to see if I "need" f1.4

oh that kind of stuff. I don't have any insurance for it so I can't comment on it. Thankfully I also have not come anywhere remotely close to feeling any need for it.

around March 10th to the end of the month. I'm attending a very important wedding on March 29th in Laguna Beach (yes, that's Good Friday... but it's a Persian wedding). I guess I'll return the Monday or Tuesday after Easter.

we should meet up if you're down
