Love the colors on this. The Washington Monument shots are incredible too.

 

ok, so i drank the Milky Way koolaid.

I went camping Friday night out on BLM land. pretty much so dark out there you could see the milky way with your own eyes.

used the nex-6 with the 16mm 2.8 pancake. a bit hard to get infinity focus with the focus peaking since it was so dark. It was also windy so maybe theres a little camera shake

Exceptionally calm air tonight and I was able to snap some very nice images on a run of the mill tripod on my deck! No post processing on this image other than resizing and cropping.

 

ooofff...i did some more pp on it and I replaced the shot on my flicker and once again the replacement doesn't follow to the link.

decided to take a picture of the reflection from the very bright super moon last night (instead of the actual moon )

The day before the supermoon...

Other than cropping the image, no editing whatsoever (Nikon D5300 - 300mm-1/250-F11-ISO250)


I realized I don't need to shoot a full moon with my camera connected to my telescope because it's too damn close to get the full moon, anyway!

When connected to my 'scope - no lens attached, just the camera directly into the telescope, with a moon filter attached:

 

Great job on a tough exposure!

Love this! What settings are you using with your camera to achieve these results?

 

I took a bunch of different pics...I just have to go through them to see which ones are worth keeping...I'm still a total DSLR newb, but Thanks!

That shot is actually 2 exposures adjusted in Lightroom then layered in Photoshop Elements 11.

Moon exposure: Manual mode - iso100, f16, shutter speed 1/5 of a second. BUT the moon was NOT what I meters on.

Rest of the shot: Manual mode - iso 100, f16, shutter - 13 seconds.
