Learned about Comet Ison last night. Hopefully one of us can capture some images of it if it survives it's trip around the Sun.

Here's one where I just stood further back and got it in one exposure.
Imo, it just doesn't look that good. If I stood even further back, I don't know how well the photo might have come out since it's the cheapo 50 1.8D. I've had some photo's come out out of focus and such with it before lol

I'm shooting on a D90 so I have to deal with crop, and it just doesn't look as nice if I were to just frame it like that with one exposure. I wasn't really aiming for it to be panoramic shot, but to use that method to create a higher res of what I want. I forgot where I read about it, but it's come in handy lol. Also, like I said, I'm on crop so I can't always get everything in frame so I'd have to do multiple exposures to get it all in ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

there's nothing wrong with shooting a panoramic of a 'typical' scene - in addition to resulting in a higher resolution file with noticeably higher detail (which can be useful if you need a larger than usual print, among other things) - shooting multiple frames also increases the artistic options which you can use on your final product. Panoramic software gives you multiple types of stitching modes which can yield dramatic results that are simply not possible with conventional lenses. While the shot he posted may be of the 'simpler' variety and POV, I'm always for the exploration of alternative (read: dynamic) ways of doing the same thing, as it ultimately leads you towards a creative path.

I've been wanting a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 for a while, but never really got to saving up for it. I'm pretty much done for now as far as my gear goes. Just gonna use what I have for the time being. Love my 70-200 :P

That 70-200 is a good lens from what I hear. ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
My first SLR was a D90, good camera! Last year I upgraded to the D7000 just weeks before they announced the D7100. Still
about that.

Mine's the first generation.
If I ever upgrade bodies, I'll most likely go FX. Friend let me borrow his D600 for a weekend and I was just blown away by the wonders of FX lol
