yeah it truly takes effort. I know when I come back to Boston I'd love to wander the old streets and do nightscenes over there. This is pretty cheesy and touristy but I'd for sure do one of the Boston Massacre area. I've never seen any such good photos. Well even any bad photos lol. Looking quickly on flickr, I'm primarily getting photos of the roller-derby team with the same name..

oh well that search term helped.

and, it doesn't look anything like I expected it to. hehe. I had something totally else in my head, for some reason. probably from looking at too many illustrations in history books.

yeah, its in the middle of a fairly busy intersection. I've admittedly never been to it.

However, your mention of touristy neighborhood shots has given me some ideas. Theres nothing better than wandering through the tight back streets of the North End (the old italian neighborhood near The Boston Garden and Fanuel Hall) I need to get in there again now that I have faster glass and see if I can get better results.

I'll see what I can do, only downfall is that the little gardens and parks you stumble upon are gonna be pretty lifeless at this time of year

My photo of the day ... thought I would try out the adjustment brushes in LR3 which I've hardly practiced with.

It's been a lot of fun, but I won't lie, it's been tiring as well. The press conference schedule is non-stop. Back to back to back to back. No breaks for breakfast, lunch or anything. I wish I could have stayed till Wednesday to take more pictures.

what's cool about it is the things that make it look like that are not even sci fi kind of things - it's at Union Station and those red things are ribbons hanging from the ceiling, Christmas decorations. Here is the one image it came from, an altogether "classical" and non-futuristic scene.

...so, had a chance to use that B&W ND110 filter today, but I was really hoping there would be some wind to move the clouds for more dramatic shots. But there weren't hardly any wind... the clouds just weren't moving.

Another thing I wasn't expecting... I knew the filter was 10 stops... but OMG! after you put it on the lens, you can't see ANYTHING through the viewfinder! I'll have to play with it more later next week.

Sony a900/Minolta 17-35mm f2.8-4, 30 seconds exposure/B&W ND110 filter
