Hate as you wish but Bangles/BMW design are being copied left and right including Lexus/Toyota.

Look at the new Camry and LS or in fact, all of Toyota's upcoming sedans, everything from the rear passenger doors to the bumper has Bangle/BMW design written all over it.

BMW is a pioneer in design and innovation - you can't hate them for that.

Just because it's being copied doesn't make it any less ugly.

We need an article from Bangle to explain the ugliness away.

After having come to terms with the E60's Bangle-styling (and now loving the E60 after having driven the 545i and 530i), I say just leave it be until the next generation.

TT 4.4L DI V8....Sounds like a winner. Must be running some low boost levels to only make 404 hp. The new turbocharged BMW's are going to be a tuners dream.

The front fascia didn't improve at all, IMO. The rear is better, but just barely.

^ Me too. The current 5-Series is one of the better Bangle designs, I don't find it as ugly as everyone says. But I don't think it's a beauty queen either. But at least it was distinctive. This looks like it's going reverse into that same sausage/different length philosophy with the 3-Series looking front.

This appears to be the case, the SMG is perfect for the track, not so perfect for street. Plus DSGesque gearboxes seem to be a better mousetrap.

Seems like the engieers at VW/Audi got the idea right, and many others will follow.

Looks less ugly than the current 5-series IMO, front AND back. I hated those long appendages on the headlights, I'm glad they're gone.

Notice how they had to tame down the weird Bangle designs? First 7-series, the 3-series coupe's lights are more conservative than the sedan, now the 5-series...
