That's cool, TSX's rear isn't bad IMO.

We'll see what the interior shots are like as well as the rear. I'll at least keep an open mind about those design cues.

Not sure if the 'whole package' will be as well received as when the 3rd gen came out. Right now, I have a feeling many people on this board will love to hate it ... but as time goes on, it will be better received. Call this prediction a hunch. I for one will not be in line any time soon to pick one of these cars up. Based upon some of the guess-timated pricing, this car has a lot of competitors that could be a perceived 'better value' for the money.

i'm curious to see the interior too because i think acuras have had some of the best looking interiors over the years.

i guess we can expect the new TL to follow the TSX, MDX, and accord with lots of buttons and the navi screen towards the top of the dash.

(personally, i prefer touch screen navis and in the center of the console like the current TL and 1G TSX)

and that many will not warm up to it at first but eventually will. we've already seen that with the new TSX, and that's only been out for a few months now. it tends to happen with lots of new models.

but i think you brought up a good point about the "value" of the car. if the 38-40 pricing is true, there's certainly a lot more to choose from at that price point. the current TL was/is definitely a steal.

I think it looks great overall. The grille can always be painted/put up with. I really want to see the interior though as Acura's new interiors kick ass, and I can imagine that it'll make this car.

Think those wheels will fit a 1g TSX though? Might have to find some after the car becomes available

I'm sure they meant to go for an exaggerated "blistered fender" look. It's a style thing. I don't mind it since they're consistent about it.

Well I must admit, it's better looking than I thought I'd be, and it's certainly better looking than both the TSX and RL, IMHO. The grill is weird, but I think in time I'd get used to it.

Wow, it's the first time I've seen the majority of posters on this board who said they liked a new TL(3g included), than those who don't!

I thought the only people that didn't like the 3g were the owners of the 2g.

This one looks promising. I happen to like the low-slung wedge look of the 3g, but this one doesn't strike me as hideous (other than another forced grille placement).

The exterior looks nice, but I think its important to see what options the car will have now and how it will drive vs. the competition.

I said I liked it (a little), but I ain't gonna buy it...

We'll have to see what the sales numbers are before we can judge how much people "really" like it... Talk is cheap... but the numbers will speak for themselves...

I think the 3G looks a lot better than the 4G does...

I think the MDX grill would have been a much much better choice, but as it stands now I don't think the TL looks too bad. It looks promising so far

I love the grille on the TL. It's even better than the TSX's because it has the x-pattern in black, whereas in the TSX it's the brick pattern, and on the RL it just looks soo wrong.

who hear thinks that the 09 base TL will start around $35-36K and then a fully loaded SH-AWD TL will be around $45-47K?

i bet that since people these days want to have a car with better fuel efficiency and isn't really that expensive since the economy sucks, but still wants to be pampered with a little touch of class and have a longer warranty and loaner cars will opt for the TSX either base or tech instead of the TL.

please don't say the US Accord sedan instead of the TSX because the warranty is less, the sedan is uglier than the TSX, no loaners, no HIDs, and Acura has a little more class than a Honda even though the Acura brand isn't on par to BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Audi, or Infiniti.

It's most likely going to be a few thousand dollars more than the base TL right now. Cars always seem to follow that trend. Bigger and more expensive as the model years go on.

Looks ok.

Best thing about that rendering are the wheels.

Dont like the bulge on the front fenders, and I still cannot get used to the new Acura Grilles.

Now how many of us are gonna be lining up to buy one of these bad boys for $37k-ish?

I for one, probably won't be getting another TL unless its a 3rd Gen TL-S.

I don't think Acura is behind Audi or Infiniti in the US. IMO, they are Tier 2 just like Acura. Actually, the only knock I've ever heard on Acura has always been RWD/V8 sedans and that's usually from internet car enthusiast and car mags. None of which represent the majority of US consumers.

You have a point, in this economy people will probably opt for entry-level luxury sedans like the TSX, IS250, etc. If the TL is moving up market to compete with the GS, M, E, etc., I think 40-45K would be a bargain if the TL SH-AWD has everything the aforementioned have and a little more.

I agree. The MDX grill looks great on any of the current (TSX and RL) and future sedan (TL) offering. It's a shame that they're not standard.

That said, I'm still cool with how the 09 TL (concept?) looks right now.

However, it doesn't hold a candle to the 3G TL, which will be remembered as one of the best looking sedans on the road...

FIXED

Ah. Well, the car shown might be a concept still, since we haven't seen the actual car itself (sans camo), but the image itself is an official one since it's found on the Acuranews.com site, which is owned by Honda/Acura.

Ok fine you got me. It's an official image from Honda/Acura.

You want a cookie?

I assumed it was a rendering cause the picture looked "like it was drawn (aka Rendered)." Unless thats an ACTUAL picture of the new TL that was photoshopp enhanced to look like a drawing, in which case then I stand corrected.

I wonder how it would look with a grill similar to the 2G TL....?

Looks better without the front fender flare. It must be functional though.... shame.

IMO the 2G TL is still the best looking TL exterior wise. Just my though
