Very similar looking overall to the MDX, not bad.

Seems a bit bland / generic...but I don't mind it. The interior looks great.

The OG RDX was about pretty much a train wreck design.
This however is about as vanilla as one can get.
However this is a smarter move for Acura for their previous design language was downright horrible.....better to go the safer vanilla route....don't excite...don't offend.

The thing about decent vanilla design is that it tends to look better or still looks pretty good later in its lifespan.
I've always though Honda had it right being just a tad bland. This whole 'bold' thing was clearly out of character.

^^ The RSX was not a looker.

I didn't think so either, but a lot of people liked it.

Three Wheelin'
The more I look at it, the more I see a little Lex RX, which is a good thing as the 5-passenger RDX is more of a competitor to the 5-pass RX than the 7-pass MDX.
And I agree on Honda/Acura losing its way with the bolder designs - H/A have always been about quality, reliability, and clean design. These recent redesigns may prove more conservative and perhaps an adherence to that original ideal (let's hope).
And I really like the moving of the blade down in the grille opening...

I still think the 2.3 turbo had more potential than the NA V6. I miss that engine and the SH-AWD as well. Now it seems the RDX is truly just a luxury version of the CRV (even more than it was before). There's nothing unique about it. Let's see if the blandness pays off in increased sales.

I like the new RDX I think I will choose that or a Volvo S60 AWD tired of having cars with all this power and they dont grip the road and Chicago weather sucks time for AWD. I'm glad they put a V6 in it turbos have some lag and they suck when you have the AC on, they are noisy too. I have about 6 months till my lease is up. I will say it has a little of a chevy equinox look, not bad tho I like the grille and the interior.

To think we could have seen more turbo applications from Honda if they put this engine in the TSX.
....but no, for the strangest of reasons they put this engine in the RDX.....and now this engine is kicked to the curb, along with any hopes of future turbo engines from Honda.

It's sad to see Honda give up on an engine with potential.

It's nice to see Chrysler has sold the Grand Caravan rights to Honda, and they are already making plans for the production line.
That's my problem though. I see too many SUVs look like a shorten minivan.

If the Infinity FX...
mated with a Mazda CX7...
you'd get the 2013 RDX.

To me, this is just a smaller version of the MDX, and that is no bad thing - it's very vanilla, but guess what? The MDX is a big seller for Acura, so why mess with a winning formula!? It does look much more premium and mature than the current RDX.
Sure, I would like a car that looks more futuristic and distinctive, but most car buyers probably would love this. So it does not have SH-AWD - I would love for it to have it, but most soccer moms will just be happy with AWD, and would probably not be pushing the car to its limits to know the difference between AWD and SH-AWD anyway. Just watch it - I bet you this thing will sell really well!
