this time Acura/Honda is launching NSX globally.

2016 Honda NSX driven: worth the wait?
How fast will she go mister? Klaus is guarded, saying it's the light switch throttle response that gives him bragging rights. Scuttlebutt says it'll dash from 0-62mph in under three seconds and will top out at 191mph. Klaus says the fuel economy is better than a Porsche 911 Turbo, so expect an official average of about 30mpg.
Honda trots out the line that was true a quarter of a century ago, that the NSX is the most useable sports car you can buy, but most modern supercars are useable and there's a bigger prize here.

2017 Acura NSX Technical Introduction - Honda News
Construction Techniques
A number of innovative construction techniques are used in the manufacture and assembly of the all-new Acura NSX at the company's new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.

100 percent of the aluminum space frame components are joined by Robotic Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, the first time to be applied in a mass-produced automobile on this scale. To aid the accuracy of the robotic weld process, the PMC utilizes an innovative rotating trunnion, or rotisserie-type, jig that rotates the part into the optimal position for the robotic weld arms, another first for automobile body construction.

Exceptionally high-quality and precise space-frame construction is accomplished via this innovative methodology which combines highly precise robotic control of the weld process with the advanced skills of PMC weld technicians. A robust in-line quality confirmation process, for both the quality of the weld and conformity of part to established specs, involves confirmation by both robotic measuring equipment and by highly skilled weld technicians at every stage of the construction

Neither does the NSX. In order to handle as well it needs the performance tire option. You can NOT drive that tire in snow!

And you know this because you own a modern Ferrari and you currently drive the NSX and have high miles on one that isnt even sold yet to tell us of its reliability?

Why?? I have been to MANY lapping day events where people DROVE, not to be confused with driven on the back of a flatbed or trailer to the track, many coming from 2+ hour drives. And when the day was done they got in their cars and drove home. When was the last time you went to a lapping day at the track??

And your point would be what???? That Acura/Honda is finally doing something that all the other manufacturers have done for decades??

Right, and I forgot that all over super car manufacturers use wooden clubs and stones to build their cars and none of them are built with proprietary technology and none of them have any patents on anything they do and ONLY Honda can build a true super car because Honda Honda Honda. Fucking fanboi.

And SSFTSX, quit quoting press releases from Honda. Of course they are going to say the new NSX is he best thing since the last NSX. What the fuck is wrong with you?

I feel like that review was written more from a perspective of a reporter, not a driver.

Anyway, overall, 573 horsepower and 476 pound-feet of torque. Does the torque seem a little low for a twin-turbo with additional electric motors?

Acura is under rating it because we know that Acura relies on Honda BHP, which is much higher than all others BHP. If Acura advertised the true Honda BHP in terms of all others BHP, it would be like eleventy billion BHP. Same goes for torque.

I think it's the way that they calculate peak power and torque, which is quite unlike the likes of P1, 918, and LaFerrari. For those cars in general the figures are just simply added up from engine and motors.

Doesn't all automakers have to adhere to the SAE standard in publishing hp and torque figures ?

I remembered that Honda had to revise down the hp figures of it's vehicles when the power measurement standard kicked in back then.

Individually for the ICE and electric motors, probably, but the combined number doesn't need to be the simple sum.
