Does it even have Vtec?

Battery + turbo + Vtec? does that mean not only the turbo will kick in at high rpm, the vtec will also kick in... yo???

Oh yes, Oh yes. Tires.

OEM tires will make or break the supercar.

of course people who can afford $170k would have no problem buying a set a new tires or just get the "upgraded" tire package.

But that is not the point.

It just makes u think WTF is Acura thinking by having All Season tire as standard in the first place?

To save $$? It is a $170k car, not an ILX or TLX
To drive in Snow? No one will drive the NSX in Snow due to its inferior ground clearance
Better Performance? No

I was under the impression the NSX will not have VTEC. Can anyone confirm, one way or another?

All season tires shouldn't be used in the snow, or winter, for that matter. They've been redubbed as 3-season tires for a reason.

Ok.. so now i am really curious why Honda chose all season as the standard tires?

Based on what I read, that camera rig may weigh less than the new NSX.

Some observations:

Didn't know Honda very early on had plans for a V10 FR platform as a possible NSX successor! Very interesting...

Nice to know it has no turbo lag and the torque vectoring is explained for easy average joe comprehension.

Also, the guy is generally critical of the NSX. I think this may be a trend....I mean they will always compare it to the legendary NSX 1.0 which you can never say good things about besides maybe its low hp outpt.

But even if Honda made this NSX in a very similar vein as the old NSX...I feel as if there will still be plenty of critcism as in: "its just the same as the old NSX!!!"

Did we watch the same video? Cuz he said it's not engaging and feels fake. That's the worst thing you can say about that car.

This car wouldn't be judged so critically if this was coming out as a 3G. That na V10 wouldve fit the bill perfectly in between.

Yeah besides the torque vectoring (which he says doesn't work on fast corners as well) and the 0 turbo lag and the real-time adjustable suspension technology...everything else was a negative from the reviewer's point of view. Down to the looks, the heaviness, the daily driving modes, the sport tires, the hybrid/battery tech, etc. etc.

Yeah. A screaming V10 or even a slightly milder form of this Honda V8: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Indy_V8 would be awesome.

As much as we enthusiasts and car guys get baffled by what Honda does....I mean I always feel that maybe we are missing something that they are getting. I mean they run a $100+billion dollar (by revenue) company so they MUST know what they're doing at the top....

.....
That was the time when Takeo Fukui was still president of Honda Motor Co.

His vision was V10 RWD for the NSX supercar, and V8 RWD for the RL sedan.

Unfortunately, his successor, Takanobu Ito (now also gone), tore up all the then ongoing programs starting by Mr Fukui.

Cold and rainy conditions since A/S work better in those conditions, from M/T first drive.

The NSX has an optional tire. One that says Michelin on the sidewall and then the words Pilot Sport Cup 2. They’re the same size as the base tires (245/35R19 front, 305/30R20 rear), and the NSX engineers are quick to point out this compound doesn’t work well in cold, rainy conditions the way the Contis do. But it takes no time at all to learn that they also don’t perform on track the way the Contis do. Not only is the steering immediately heavier with the optional rubber, but the chassis also responds more sharply, and the difference in grip is orders-of-magnitude enormous. Indeed, there’s so much adhesion that the ABS system feels like it needs to be recalibrated for the Cup tires—there’s some fairly violent chatter through the chassis as the tires cycle through grip and slip. Worth it.

Go figure. Putting supercar tires on Acura’s supercar transforms the machine. All of which leads to the question: Why did Acura choose those relatively workaday Continental tires for the NSX—and why did the engineers tune the car for such benign behavior any time you’re out of the Track mode? Well, because Honda.
