Question Tweeter add-on/upgrade

I am considering adding some aftermarket tweeters (Rockfort Fosgate(sp?)) in the door panels, but I wanted to get some input from some of you that have added them to the factory system. Is it worth it?

Thanks!

I'm also thinking of upgrading the speakers in my TL. Has anyone looked into replacing the panel on back of the side mirrors, currently without speakers, with the panels from the CL, which have speakers on them? They look about the same size. So many ideas so little money.

Adding tweeter are worth it for sure. I did them in Mafioso's car. 1" tweets right next to the door handle...been waiting for a couple pics (hint hint Chris)...I forgot to take them when I did the install.

Yep, the CL enclosures would be the way to go, IMO. remember the guy who posted pics of the vinyl-covered deals he made for the same spot? We gave him ALL SORTS of flak for that, and I didn't have the heart to suggest thst he should have gone for the factory CL enclosures.

Please post how much a pair of those cost if anyone gets 'em...

Mr. TL - looks like those are from the CL, no? Have those made custom, did you? They look like they're raised in a bit of a curve around the tweeter openings, but I can't tell from the pic.

those are just aftermarket tweeters on the factory panel. i told ya'll, the ones from the cls dont fit. they come out about...2 cms or so. not enough room to flush mount them

yep... in fact i tried with boston acc's, and jl's and both of them are too thick to be flush mounted... mine ended up looking exactly the same as mr tl's on his pic... but the only other way is to cut a hole in the door

ok I am going to bring this up again, now at least one of the people from this board has personally seen my tweeter pods and he said they looked fine! so i am going to take my camera to work today and i will be posting another picture today. i think everyone was dissing the install because the flash made them look cheap so i will post another picture in the daylight in a few hours. check back around lunch time.

ok here is a better picture in the daytime. now i dont care if you guys dont like it. i think they look cool and so does everyone else that has personally seen them! I think mine look far better than mrTL's i cant see why you think that a tweeter just stuck on the plastic like that looks anything professional! at least i put some time and fore thought into my install even if nobody likes the vinyal i used. I used black because the original peice that was there was black and i picked a vinyal that had a similar grain to the grain on the door. I dident want to try to match the color of the door vinyal because i knew i would never get an exact match. so i dident want it to look like i tried to match it and had a slightly different color. anyway i like them and i am happy with them.

ATTN MR. TL:

About your tweeters, did you get those professionally done? If so, how much was the final cost?
