Adding iphone input vs. new head unit

I am looking in to adding an input for the stereo that will be specifically for an iphone and also have another USB input for other devices. The inputs I have seen that do all this are around the $150 price range, give or take.
So I looked at head units that have ipod and usb inputs. Some even have built in Bluetooth that allows audio streaming. They are around the same price range.
So why buy an input when a new head unit as all these feature and more?
I have a 2005 TL w/o Navi
Thoughts?
Thanks

I have a problem w thieves in my area so I prefer to keep mine stock looking as possible. They've already broken into my odyssey 3 times. So w that in mind I got the USA spec iPod interface in my 01 TL. Installation was easy as long as u do everything carefully and it works pretty well too. I'm going to try to keep the stock radio in there as long as I can.

So you wont upgrade your HU bc of thieves? Better sell the car before they steal it.

Joke Aside just get a Better HU if you can Afford it.. Thats if you want better SQ.
Save some bucks and Install it yourself its not too hard...

They don't steal cars here. Just strip them. They're not smart enough to steal the whole thing.

So I am guessing the new head unit would need to have outputs for center channel tight?

Nope most HU doesnt have a Center Channel and I said MOST! Some have but those are the Really Really Expensive High End Stuff... Miles away from your 150 bucks Budget.

But you can Regain the Center Channel later down the Road with some AMP power...

I would just get a new HU. Honestly the thing is so time consuming to put in and out, I just replaced mine and it took an hour just to take the stock one out, I wouldn't worry about thieves. Go with a new one and just look on crutchfield. It comes with all the installation gear and instructions
