I like that 7800 and 9800, but I'll stick with my Eclipse.

I didn't mean to be like totally pro-alpine, but i was jus sayin' that i've already got an aftermarket deck and wouldnt jump for this one.

Oh hell no, I wouldn't trade-in for these decks. If I still had the factury HU and was in the market for one, I might glance at these. They have cool features, but I would just wait until Alpine, Clarion or Eclipse comes out with the same features. Eclipse will probably be last with Bluetooth, they always seem to running behind.

Exactly, that's what i meant. Bluetooth really doesn't matter for me, because my fones are never uptodate and i try to limit my fone calls in the car anyway. Its cool that these new HU's have all these features, but at the end of the day, i just want it to sound good.

pioneer is trash, alpine > *

Fujitsu-ten Eclipse isn't 'bad' necessarily, but definately behind the curve.

When Eclipse comes out with something to rival Alpine's F#1 line, let me know.

Clarion came out w/ their DRZ9255 not too long ago, that was very impressive...

Eclipse....?

i've had alpine and pioneer h/u's and my personal preference is the sound and functions of the alpine way outdid the pioneer.

im all alpine. ive gone through 3 cars and all 3 ended up with alpine decks. When i say ended up, i mean ive gone through sony, pioneer, jvc, clarion and just loved the alpine. eclipes deck doesn't look too great but they perform very very well.

Pro-pioneer. I've been thru them all also (not in the TL). I always loved my pioneers with built in 13 -band eq's and hi and lo pass filters, crossovers, and sub control. But as far as these new units, I hate the "one button does all" situation. Go try out that "knob" in-person, you'll see what I mean.

alpines before seemed overpriced, and the only one i owned crapped out on me. But so has a Nakamichi.
all 3 pioneers i've owned have worked flawlessly. But i think alpine styling is still better. Pioneers are way too flashy, and look like they'd only fit in if you installed them in a spaceship.

if i was to buy a new headunit, it would be either a nakamichi or eclipse

the one alpine I had was an overpriced POS. Maybe I should give them a try again.

That's the reason for my opinion, because I've been thru the same exact situation.

Alpines BT adapt or is scheduled for release in march.
Pro's: An ad on piece (AI Net) = reduced noise and possible backwards compatibility although we'll have to try that out ourselves.
Con's: Limited feature package, unfortunately Alpine has other plans for their wireless capable head units so there wasn't much emphasis put on Bluetooth....
BTW: We should start seeing a new logo on '06 alpine head units..... PlaysForSure via USB2.0 :thumbs:up

Now this is all scheduled for the '06 model year but as some of u know, alpine has a bad history when it comes to release dates....
