Replace battery in the MID screen

I have been having this replace battery in the mid screen, battery light and acuralink message come on and off almost every time I'm driving for the past week on my 12 tl sh and wondering if anyone else has this issue. I changed the battery from oem to acdelco with 700 cca last year and have had no issues since. I also took the car to advance auto and had the battery tested and it was good beyond oem specs. I dont really want to replace a good battery or think i can get a warranty on a battery thats testing good. Any suggestions? I have read the tsbs but they only talk about the mid screen showing charge low...

One of the most common issues with automotive batteries is the ground connection. Corrosion can occur UNDER the negative terminal. It is often overlooked and when tested the battery will show as good (because there is nothing wrong with the battery). This would be the first place I would look for trouble.

You can also try and reset the battery management system after the battery is charged. Disconnect the gray 2P connector next to the battery
negative cable for 10 seconds, and then reconnect it.

No^

OP, just take the negative terminal off and inspect for corrosion. This process will also reset the ECU.

yup that's what happened to me last year but I didn't know my battery was covered under warranty so I replaced it with an aftermarket and its been good since... except the past few weeks.

Is it for the key fob or actual car battery.

Do you get 'replace battery' warning before your battery craps out as well? I have an 09 with stock battery still going strong I feel. I have a battery sitting in the garage waiting but stock still has not gone yet.

I got no warning, one day all is fine...the next morning all I hear is clicking sound, cluster flashing and silence...

after disconnecting the terminals there was no corrosion. i did notice that it was a little loose though. I greased them up and tightened up the connections. so far so good!

I hope one of the above 'solutions' works for you. However, my experience leads me to believe the problem is a sensor/firmware issue. I have had this message occur since purchasing this car (3 years ago). The message comes and goes, but the car always starts. Acura has tested the electrical system several times, but has not found a 'problem'.

I just bought an used 2012 Acura TL about a week ago and the battery crapped out yesterday. I had it jumped and the car was running fine. I took it to the Acura dealership the next day and asked to replace the battery since there was some corrosion on it and figured the battery was on its way out. However, they insisted the battery was still good and that there was a draw on the battery, but weren't able to locate the source of the draw. Has anyone encountered this issue before on their 4G TL?

I read in the 3G TL section there was an issue with the HFL system not shutting down completely once the car turns off, leading to battery drainage.

How a dealer can not figure out the draw?
They have the training for that diag

Well, they said they needed more time to diagnose, but I was just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them and where the draw was coming from?

Most common was hfl on either tl or mdx
But also a/c relay would stick on them as well and drain the battery

From the time I picked up my 2012 TL from the dealer it's had intermittent issues with battery warnings. The dealer checks the system and finds the battery is fine. About a month ago the battery just died with no warning whatsoever. Right in the middle of a car wash which was very inconvenient.

The dealer replaced the battery at no charge, but about a week later I began receiving a battery low message each time I started the car. The vehicle turned over with no issues turning over. The dealers claimed that the battery management system just need to be reset. I did not get the error for 3 days, now it's back. I'm bringing it back in.

The car has a lot of draw for power. For example, when using a AC compressor to fill up air in my tires, I have started to run the car, I don't want it to drain the battery. I had once run the radio for 30 minutes and it drained the battery as well. It was 2009 model so it didn't have the 2012 battery management system.
