btw.. I love the look.. but in those pics from the open house.. it looks like the bumper cover and lip kit are off. Were you in an accident or ever have the bumper covers taken off or fenders replaced?

No accidents but none of my plastic matches my metal. From what I have seen none of the WDP's match. If you look at my plastic pieces (bumpers, lip kit) they look a tad more yellowish than my metal pieces do

ok so as many of you know I am running a stretched tire. Along with this comes rock chips on the outer part of your wheel since there is no rubber protecting it. After awhile it started to look like shit so I decided to try to fix it today. I didn't have any curb rash on this wheel so it was a really easy fix.
here is a before and after pic. If anyone is interested let me know and Ill post up the paint code I used and pics and a description of the process
I do have another wheel that does have a bit of curb damage that Im going to try to repair next week. That one is going to need some bondo lol. ill post some pics of that next week

Here is what I did -
1) sand the damaged part of the wheel. I used a 220 then a 600 grit sandpaper.
2) clean the wheel with paint thinner. Make sure its really really really clean lol seriously i cleaned mine 4 times just to make sure there wasn't any remaining dust from sanding.
3) tape off the wheel so only the areas exposed are being painted. I used business cards around the part of the lip that meets the tire and I put a plastic tire bag on the middle of the wheel. Place the painters tape on the inside of the lip or the wheel if you can just in case you get a paint line it will be harder to notice.
4) this is where you would want to use the bondo and sand repeatedly but I skipped this step since I only needed paint.
5) Prime and paint! You want a very thin coat of primer and a couple very thin coats of paint. If you spray either of these on too think you are going to get a line where the tape was. Only use enough primer for the paint to stick and only use enough paint to get the desired color. You do not need 57 coats.

Nice process, I used a similar process for fixing my works...black is VERY forgiving with the touchup paint. Hardest part was ensuring where you taped was smooth and not building up too much to make the transition from paint to no paint noticeable.
I was only saying that because I'm still a little league guy running a 225 stretched on a 9".

Thanks and no it shouldn't. Ill throw the wheel on the balancing machine when im done just to check but I highly doubt that small amount of bondo will make a difference.
The paint was in a spray can. Its made by duplicolor and the code is NH91M. Vossen gave me a a paint code of TY1600 but its way too dark. The NH91M matches perfectly.

So this is how my week started.....Tiara Lynn dies in the Starbucks drivethru on Monday morning 
So here is the story, Ill try to keep this brief but I'm a woman so I'm not real good at that lol
So Im driving to starbs and my fuel light comes on, ok no big deal Ill stop by the gas station after I get coffee. I drive maybe another 2 miles and pull into the starbucks lot, I downshift to second and I have no power. My immediate thought was I was accidentally in 6th gear or something but nope it was second. I proceed to the drivethru because at this point unless I reverse I had no choice and there were people behind me. About 2 minutes later my car sputters and dies. FUCK!! So I push it into a parking spot and think......and think.
........
First thought - my car is out of gas and my gas gauge is wrong. The way it sputtered out and lost power I swear I thought I was out of gas. So I walk to the gas station, buy a gas can and get some gas. I get back to the TL, put it in and the car starts........then dies again lol. OK second thought - I need more gas, so I go get more and put more in which gives me 1/4 of a tank. Still won't start so I call a tow truck and get it towed to the performance shop I work at.
I tried to start it a few more times and pulled the spark plugs and did not smell fuel at all so I was pretty sure I wasn't getting fuel. I pull the back seat bottom out and remove the 4 screws that cover the fuel pump. I get snap on tester tool thing we have and start my tests. No codes and no check engine lights at all. I perform the test that manually operates the fuel pump and put my ear to it, I hear nothing. I pull the fuel pump assembly out and test it, its getting power but its not turning on at all.
I call acura and order another assembly for $530 (fuck canadian prices) and the assembly arrived Wednesday. Im looking at the assembly and im thinking I do not need all this shit, all I need is a pump i think. So I remove the pump from the old assembly and test just the pump. I wanted to make sure the problem was in the pump itself and not in the wiring associated with the assembly. Sure enough it was just the pump so I start looking for a replacement. I found the Walbro p/n GSS342 worked but it was a tad larger so I decided to order it and worry about the fitment when it came. In the meantime I replaced the spark plugs which were fucked anyway.
The walbro arrives and i test it first, it works great so I decide to fit it in the old assembly. It fit with very minor modifications, I basically just had to remove one of the plastic orange pieces that help the pump in. It fit so snug though I didnt need it, Ill post a DIY with some pics so you can see exactly what I am referring to.
Put everything back together and she runs like a champ! So Im still mad I had to replace my fuel pump at 60K but Im glad it only cost me $100 total not $530.

Well, no...I mean, I definitely have kissed a woman in that vicinity before but in this instance I was saying that I was impressed that she was able to trouble shoot and fix such a major issue by pioneering and retrofitting.

i just called vossen, they told me they only make the 10.5" +42 but they make the 10" in +45. did you have to use any spacers? or have any rubbing issues inside or out. I know you said you rolled your fenders...

Rubbing will depend on a number of variables.
Do I rub?....yes. Will you rub is a different question because i have no clue how low you are, what kind of camber you are running, and what tire size you are running.
Spacers? No. Never. I believe in buying the right size wheel so spacers are not needed.
If you want to run an aggressive fitment in the front you will 100% need to roll those front fenders or they will buckle. Roll them BEFORE you install the wheels and start to rub. If you are rubbing and you damage your paint even slightly and you try to roll your fenders after you have already rubbed, the paint is for sure going to crack. Same thing goes for the rear....roll them before you start to rub.

Big Up CarrieLynn I got the 2011 6MT. I'm Moving to Toronto from Seattle. I'm Assuming on Canada they Rape on Prices huh? I'm mainly trying to get the car Lowered and Put some bass in the trunk until summer right now. But if things really expensive over there what you recommend i work on before I cross? (High Performance Tires Package SH-AWD 6MT) Oh and did you had to pay that "import" tax?
