iPhone and Pandora

I just discovered that with bluetooth audio selected and a linked iPhone it will play ANY audio from the iPhone! I tried it with Navigon GPS application and the directions came through crystal clear (not essential since I have my the OEM Nav system). Then I tried it with Pandora and worked just as well.

Very cool indeed.

works great w/ Pandora (+ w/ Pandora you can actually creat a "station" you like to listen to) about ready to cancel xm because of it. and did I mention Pandora is FREE.

hey bmode what do you think of the sound quality of Pandora over bluetooth? I couldn't tell the difference w/ the same song playing from an iPod via the usb input. (I'm playing it from my 3GS iPhone)

Not bad at all actually, I dig it! iHeart Radio sounds good too. I stream Pandora on the computer and home and it's better than XM/Sirius by far! My latest craze is watching movies on the iPhone over bluetooth audio in the TL. It's pretty sweet.

It works when my 3Gs drops to edge speed, but I'm not sure how much has already been cached.

I don't think my 1st gen iPhone worked w/ the bluetooth in the 4G. If I'm not mistaken I believe the 1st gen iPhone bluetooth wasn't even stereo

Do it! The 3GS bluetooth audio is excellent and the price drop sure helps!

Nope, 1st gen and 2nd gen iphone does not have stereo Bluetooth. I have an IT friend who has been holding out on the iphone because it didn't have the stereo Bluetooth. He is also a bicyclist and listens to music while riding so he needs it for his Bluetooth headset. He finally got the 3rd gen

i-phone charge in TL 09

Is an i-phone 3s being charged while connected to the USB. I am not sure if the output is compatible. Is it damaging to the i-phone battery? Any thoughts, thanks!

kind of an XM killer app isn't it

I mean create a station(s) you like, no commercials, no $77 / yr

Indeed, the app kicks ass. XM is really F'ing up! I've been recording XM streams for four years now, and since the merger the quality is pure shite! It's been reduced to 8-bit audio? They went from near CD quality (never really close to that), to near trash audio. Not to mention they dumped a bunch of cool XM programs that I've been following since 2004. So lame, and going down fast.

Yes, the iPhone charges when connected via USB. I have run my 3GS and my old 1G iPhone through many Acura USB charge cycles with no problems. Note it will also charge when tethered to your computer.

Thanks BlueM&M, I actually talked to apple, they said as long it shows a normal sign that it charges it is ok.

Just got the iPhone last weekend and loving it. Never realize what the Pandora internet radio is about until last night while looking at the apps store. Thanks to this post I’m going to try to stream Pandora through the Bluetooth audio now. It is great timing since I’m not going to renew the XM radio (I think it’s a waste of money even if it’s only $77/year)

Ya I got my 3GS a couple of weeks ago, and just discovered Pandora yesterday and BT audio streaming. Worked like a champ to and from work today. Sound was amazing, and didn't get a single drop or hiccup during my 30 minute commute.

Glad I didn't pay for XM! Plus I can get traffic updates on Google maps on the iphone, which is great.

Pandora does work pretty damn well in this car, only reason I really keep XM is when I drive upstate NY, I have barely any cell signal, and not even edge I'm still tweaking my pandora stations to my liking (never used prior to iphone so im still getting used to it)

Updated to version 3.1.2 on 3GS iPhone and I still have to reconnect the iPhone via data connection once the TL bluetooth engages. Sadness. Bluetooth audio is smooth with no issues, but still like the data for better sound, so still a little bit screwed.

I have to ask - how do you do you get Pandora over BT? I have an iPhone 3G. I use my phone, of course, over BT. But how do I get Pandora.

Also, does anyone have a good solution for creating an auxilary input for the 05 TL so I can listen to my iPhone/Ipod? Thanks!

this is a 4g forum and the deck allows you to stream music via bluetooth.

Wow, this is an awesome feature. It's so cool to stream pandora over bluetooth. The quality isn't the greatest maybe, but it's certainly acceptable. I'm very pleased!

Not sure how I missed this post for this long...

iPhone users, beware of iOS4, it seems to disable the USB connectivity.
