Is it just me or does.....

Is it just me or does the 09-11 tl body style and a spec kit minus the grill and headlights look better and more aggressive then the 2012+'s. Also does anyone know if their headlights and grill will fit on the 09-11?

duh it was aggressive.

that's why acura toned it down on the '12+ models.....

wait, you have a '10...
and you even said it looks better...

but then wants to trade to '12+ model front end.
weird

^^ LOL, i interpret his post a little differently, he likes the 09/11 minus the headlights and grille only.
In other words he wants everything else on the 09/11 but would like to have the blacked out headlights and the grille from the 12 up. Kinda like how my car looks.

OP, you can black out the housing on your car but the grille alone from the 12 up will not fit on the 09/11,you will have to do a complete conversion ie grille, bumpers etc.

Exactly kk, that's what I mean. And exactly how your car looks now, did you black the headlights out yourself or are they 12 headlights and grill?

The Aspec Kit looks good on the '09-'11's.

Someone else did the headlights for me,the grille is a one of custom made by forum member Nexon. It is a combo of the 09/12.

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you for the grill and headlights approx? We're in the same area and your ride looks amazing. I would do it almost the exact same way

He will never sell that grille

I'm looking towards a 12+ front end conversion. That is if I do want to mod my car...

I love my 2010. I respect the 2012 as a toned down version. But, I prefer my silver batmobile and to hell with what the critics think.

The 12+ front end is way better given the grille reduction

the 09-11 rear end looks way better imo, with exception to those goofy-sized reflectors. I can't stand the way the 12+ lip kit looks on the rear

^agree, the tail-lights on the 9-11 models look better than the "pink" 12+ models.

how long has it been now since your grille was painted by Nexson? Speaking to a couple body shops, they were highly opposed to painting that due to the material it's constructed of, saying paint will peel and chip VERY easily.

Two years, keep in mind that my car is stored in the winter. So far though, there is no chips or any noticeable wear/ discolouration etc.

Just got mine painted yesterday. Mine is a daily driver so we'll see how well it holds up. The paint shop told me because it's hard plastic, that it may be prone to chipping. I suppose I'll keep a little bottle of touch up paint handy.

I bought mine specifically because my old CLS6 didn't get around very well in the Midwest snow. I'm definitely not taking my Boxster out in the winter slop.

I agree....my rear end is my favorite part of the car. It is so different than anything else out there (different in a good way imo).

To each is there own on this one :-). I personally thought the 09's were hideous when they first came out. Over time I ate those thoughts back in to my mouth especially after getting one :-) . I find the 12's and up look more refined while the 09-11 just look like ass#$les coming down the road. I like the obnoxious look of the 09-11.

It will chip like crazy. Nexson says his don't chip because of the process he uses, and I've never heard anyone who has had him do it, say they have chips.

I had mine painted by the body shop. I drive a LOT on the highway...I mean 180 miles per day, and I have 3-4 chips every other week that I have to fix.

If my car gets hit with rocks, yes it will chip. I DON'T drive a lot on the highways, nowhere near 180 mile per day, maybe 180 miles per month. Obviously, the more you drive the more chance there is of a rock hitting the grill. It's not going to chip simply from driving it. There has to be contact from some object that causes it to chip. I understand that. It was prepped at a highly reputable body shop and if it somehow has 17 chips on it after 6 months I'll obviously bring that up with them and see what they want to do.

Exactly I love my huge grill too lol. The 2012 up looks too soft.
