have you seen a 09 TL on the road other than yours yet?

3rd sighting on the way home from dinner tonight. Rt 9 in Natick area. This was an interesting sighting. I was in the left lane of two lane 50mph section and in the right lane was another Grigio AWD going about 30mph, and she wasn't running her driving lights. Woman driver in her 50's with woman passenger of about the same age and a woman in the back who looked a little younger. The car was really covered in salt and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. The driver looked scared to death and had the vice grip hands at 10 & 2. I stayed next to her for a minute but she had tunnel vision going on. My partner laughed hysterically as we passed and said, see these are the real people buying your car, not your buddies who make up less than 1% on AZ. He tried to take a photo but it was too dark and came out all blurry. I was tempted to stick him in the back seat with the woman.

Odd comment for someone to make, I agree with you, it doesn't look that big at all. Damn, this makes me feel better about my iPhone camera.
That looks like the Mall parking lot in the Stanford shopping center?

I saw one at work, the same color as the one in the picture above. I parked next to it and my 05 did look dated when I stepped out to observe them both. I never realized how futuristic the 09 TLs are, especially the back. It looks much better in person.
The grille is still controversial to me but I could get over it, if I were in the market for a new car. I am almost done with my car notes and I want to drive for 2-3 yrs without a car note. Around 2011-12, I'll seriously look at whatever Acura has to offer.

There is a new Grigio/Ebony Sh-Awd in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. My very good friend from med school traded in his Lexus for the new Acura after hearing how happy I am with mine.
He sent me pics from the dealership on Saturday. He will also be joining the forum in the next few days, once he finally gets out of the car!

I saw a Polished Metal/Ebony on King Phillip Ave in West Hartford, CT yesterday, the first one I believe I have seen outside of demo cars around the dealership near my home. Three or four times now I've nearly had whiplash eyeballing what I thought was a TL only to realize its an RL or a TSX.

This one pretty unsual situation. New TL about 700 mile at Lexus dealership.
It happens exteremly rare for Mid level luxury car in new model year to be sold at other dealership.

Just saw one behind me (silver), pulling to Mexican restaurant on route 117 (Sudbury, MA) close to Boston, MA. Oh, and one on route 95/128 yesterday, some old dude was driving, I honked twice... I'm sure he thought I was crazy

I saw a Grigio Metallic FWD & 17" fugly rims with tinted windows in the Promenade Mall in Woodland Hills, CA at about 7pm tonight. Three women inside about 45 yrs old and up. We had just pulled in the lot and saw her pull in as well, so I made an attempt to park next to her for acknowledgement, but the lot was full and she was waiting on a close spot, so I bailed on that idea. After we walked across the lot we couldn't located them, but we walked by the car and the tinted windows is a nice touch. The stock 17's look worse on the Grigio. Oye!

only seen two in the 5 months I have had my TL. 1 CBP, and the other was a WDP in my work parking lot. Found out who the owner was and the next time I saw him asked him about his TL-AWD. He said he loved it and proceeded to show me a cell phone pic of his car. The entire passenger side was smashed. An 86 year old man ran a red light and totaled his 4 week old TL. He said he is getting another WDP this week.

Saw a white TL today. But sadly I went to my local Acura dealer and over half of there inventory are 2009 TLs and no one was there buying anything. There were only 7 MDXs on the lot and TSXs seemed to be moving pretty well (I see TSXs everywhere).

Turned right onto Thousand Oaks Blvd. yesterday right behind a Palladium FWD TL driven by a blonde lady... followed her for over 1 mile until reaching my turnoff... lots of looks from other drivers, assuming it was the 2 TLs, bu then again, it could have been the blonde was Heather Locklear...

She does live out here too, doubtful she'd be in a 09 TL. LOL. I've seen four TSX's in the last three days. I get excited when I see the grill coming at me, but then when I see the body it's only a TSX, it still looks great, a nice car, just underpowered for me.

I was in New York City yesterday. Very near to "Ground Zero" I saw a Black 4G TL with black interior. About twenty minutes later I saw a Polished Metal Metallic with Taupe interior near the South Street Seaport...

Last night at the AMC Theater in Framingham, saw a WDP AWD Tech parked 2 cars away. I spoke to the woman driving it and she has only had it a few weeks but loves it. This is only the 2nd 4G I have seen on the road. The other passed me on the back roads of Marlboro a few weeks ago. Just caught a glimps of it since we were both going way above the speed limit.

Missed you by about 5 minutes. We were both parked in the back, last row closer to shoppers world.

I saw three different '57 Chevy's today, Red, Black & Turquoise (sp?). That's one more '57 Chevy then '09 4G's I have seen. Its really strange since 3G's are very, very common here.

Up Close in the Wild
So I was @ the crosswalk on campus yesterday & out of the corner of my eye I see something big & shiny coming @ me ... sure enough it was a black base 2009 TL driven by a college aged female.
There was absolutely no way of missing that giant grille. My guess is that Acura was tired of being called boring & coming in like last place in the that brand recognition survey probably did not help ... so they went all out w/ the Power Plenum. Granted I know many here think that the grille is rather garish but @ the very least, the general public will now easily recognize an Acura when it is coming @ them.
This may not be the best way to get recognized on the road but it is still some type of advertising/publicity ... kinda like a sex tape, it may not be the most ideal but it gets you noticed.
On a Side Note: A few weeks back I saw a 2009 RL @ the same crosswalk -- apparently the director of our athletics department traded in his 2005 RL for a 2009 ... he must really be a fan.

Just saw a CBP FWD rolling right by me on a left turn on Topanga and Oxnard at 3pm or so. Older male about 48 or so, definitely middle eastern, LOL. No mods, no painted grill and bumper, and stock fugly 17's! It actually looked horrible to be honest with you. At least mine has the splash guards, side moldings and painted shizzy, because the silver just don't look right in the FWD.
