3.7 ticking

i have a 12 acura to and it has been ticking for a while now. i dont daily drive it, i have tried oil additive incase of metal to metal but nothing works. hopefully someone can help me

Judging by this one-second video, you need a head swap from a J35Z6—or a full swap to a J35Z6 engine.

if i switched to a 3.5 would i have to change out any other componets?

You don't need to change anything—they are interchangeable—but I would remove the valve covers and take a look at the exhaust cam lobes.

what oil do you use ? have you tried a thicker (5w30) oil ? Valvoline MaxLife 5w30 always seems to quiet down my 3.7 a lot.
to my unexperienced ears it doesn't sound that bad.

possibly, especially if the noise goes away after warm up.
