My only question is where the hell do you put the license plate when the car has that crease down the center in the front?

Those A/C vents look like an afterthought and they don't intergrate well with the navi. The center console armrest extension with the cutout make it look like an old man's car or a minvan with captain chairs. Pontiac called, they wan't back their exhaust tips.

Looking alot better in these pics but its front end is a beefed up 3G TL. Pretty much same light housing design. I will go see it once it arrives at the dealerships. As I said before Honda/Acura technology will always be excellent and far above the competitors.

The only thing that's nice about it are the alloy wheels. I really think this is just a plot to get people to buy up all the remaining 2008s. Then, Acura will release the real 2009 due to "popular demand requiring us to make a styling change." Quite a brilliant marketing strategy, actually.

How do you go from this
TO THIS, and think it looks good?
This is when Acura had it right, they should IMPROVE on this, not go off the fucking map
Seriously WTF is this?

The 2Gen TL was hideous in my opinion. It was one of the blandest Acura model to date. In the 90s my dad had a Legend and I loved it and Acura. Then the Legend was discontinued around 95. From then on Acura was stagnant until 04. I am sure many of the 2Gen owners bemoaned the 3G TL.
The new TL looks decent. People will buy it.

If you look to the lower left of the start/stop button it looks like you still have to insert your key. It would be nice if you could just keep it in you pocket and have it work by RF or something.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Also, to me at least, the new TSX looks a lot like the 3g TL. I think the TSX needs a bigger engine though, but I'll be interested in seeing how the diesel performs next year.
From seeing these pictures I think the 4G TL is the equivalent to the 2004 to 2008 Maxima. That Maxima was probably a great car, but it just seemed to miss the mark. The chintzy interior being a good example here...
I think the new TL is in the same category...It's coming off a really successful design (just like the 04 Maxima); but it just seems to miss the mark. Maybe its the grille or the backend, but it just does not work the way the previous TL did.

6 Forward 1 Back
There's a good reason why the PR dept released pics in silver. It doesn't loook that bad because it all kind of blends together. I'm waiting to see it in the darker colors. . .

I'm sorry, but that is one ugly front end. There is nothing there that excites me and makes me want to buy this car. Both the driving lights and turn signal lights set-up is some of the poorest design work I've seen to date. Wait until you put a front license plate on this thing...it will make it worse.

There's only one problem I have with this car so far: the front bumper, it looks like a complete afterthought. Hopefully the Type S version (if there is indeed a Type S for the 4th gen) will employ a different front bumper design. Other than that no complaints.

The exterior is anywhere from bland to wth/bizarre. The interior looks decent to good in the pics. It's as if they couldn't decide whether to go edgy/racy or ummm buick. Like I said a few days ago the silver paint hides or blends in the monstrosity known as the power phlegm (tm neuron bob) into the car. If you look closely the front end is just the 3G front end bulked up with an oversized grill thrown on. I'm trying to like this car but it's not happening. Maybe when I see it in person things will seem better. Whoever said this is like the change to the last generation Maxima nailed it. I waited for that maxima when I was ready to sell my 1997 maxima in 2003. It missed the mark and to me wrecked the soul of what a Maxima should have been. I ended up buying a 2004 TL instead. This TL misses the mark in similar fashion but not as badly. I get no sense of pride looking at it. Just a sense of "eh". Or a sense of how could that grill make it onto that car?! LOL!
