Looks good, i like it. Put the 4G in the hands of a modder, and just with rims, kit, and a drop it will be a head turner.
I think I'd rather wait and see if a TL-S version comes out. Also, doesn't help knowing that there are the battery powered / hybrid sport sedans / cars coming around the corner. The torque on those will be massive IMO.

hmm.. No Start/Stop button?! Screen way too far to support Touch-Screen... Otherwise looks very Acura-ic! :P

IOW:
RL = 290 HP crank --> ~190 WHP
TL Base = 258 Crank --> ~215 WHP
TL-S (5AT) = 286 Crank --> ~235 WHP
GUESS: '09 TL SH-AWD = 310 Crank --> ~215 WHP
SH-AWD Torque on the RL ain't bad, but it stand up and Scream "Acceleration" either.

That dyno is before the MMY refresh, so maybe a couple more points to the RL woith the 3.7L. Point is the SH-AWD as deployed loses a LOT of HP to the drive train.

my 01 CL-S has 211whp and will prob. be alot lighter than the 09 TL SH-AWD.

Even if it was a tech model, this is a test mule with multiple drivers and using a key would be easier in case you are switching cars/drivers as you can just leave the keys in the car.

I'm sure the interior will be quite similar to the 09 TSX. I had this loaner last week and took a few pics of it.
Here's the interior if you haven't seen it yet.

- Gauge cluster will be different
- Navi screen encasing is different
- vent placement are different
- button layout is different
Other than that I hope wood, aluminum trim layout is different and hope Acura does enough to differentiate TL from TSX.

I'm very disappointed by the apparent demise of the touchscreen navi. That's a huge plus in my book. I almost bought an 07 GS35X before my 07 TL-S. While it had a touchscreen, it locks you out while moving. The voice activation was worthless and using the knob/dial is highly annoying when you are used to the touch.
I'm not sold on the front of the new TL yet--not bad, not great. I'm very worried about the back. But, the interior shots seem totally underwhelming.
A friend of mine has the new MDX. It's very nice, but the interior, particularly the center console, is too busier and cheaper looking than mine.
I'll have to see this car in person. I've been figuring I'd just get an 09 w/ AWD as soon as it comes out, but I hope they don't kill the deal with these design changes.

I really don't care about the interior as much i as care about performance. And it may not look as good as the 04-08 tl's but looks better then the 09 tl for a fact. And the g35 will outperform a tl any ways. And its a lil bit cheaper. If the o9 tl isn't what they say it is for sure infinti will be next car.

To me the features of the exterior that look good are copies of existing designs (Camry, GS, Maxima) and the features that are unique don't look good (the new grill theme is hideous and the angled rear reminds me of the 1st gen CL ). Also not a fan of the design being bulkier (and likely heavier). Just strikes me as a me too design.

I would rather have better paint, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, heads up display, and better leather just to name a few.

I think losing the touch screen nav is a HUGE mistake, though I'm not surprised because that seems to be the trend with all lux cars these days. It's funny how smartphones are all moving from scroll wheels, trackballs, and arrow keys to touchscreens, while the exact opposite happens with built-in navs.
The only saving grace would be if the new nav has substantially upgraded voice control for entering streets and addresses, and also business names, so that you never have to use the wheel to enter letters and numbers. The voice response has to be accurate and FAST. Otherwise we're talking major tedium spinning that stupid wheel around to pick letters one by one.
I also just don't like how the new interior looks. The 3G TL is clean and high tech at the same time. It's a great balance.

IMO, push button start is cool when you only carry around one or two keys. Unfortunately I have more keys/key fobs on my key ring than I'd like so I don't mind taking my keys out of my pocket to drive.

I hate those needles that are hidden in the middle. I also hate hondas new center stacks with the big knobs, wtf is that.
I have a feeling that I will like the current interior better than the new one, which is both good and bad. good that i'm not tempted to upgrade my tl, but bad that i'm not really digging any of honda's new offerings.

^^^^ That's simply .......... sick.
Nice job. Now print it out on postersized paper, put it on a bat and beat it over Acura's upper management letting them know how close they were/are.

I took the last photochop and worked on lowering the front hood line. I suck at photoshop but I lowered the headlights to the bottom of their stock placement.
